Next week on EastEnders, Nugget is hospitalised, Phil bonds with newcomer Teddy, Harvey discovers the truth about Maya, and Denzel fears he’ll be discovered.

Thanks to the football, EastEnders will air two one-hour double bills next week, on Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm on BBC Two. No episodes will air on Monday or Tuesday.

1) The boxing tournament ends in disaster for Nugget

The day of the boxing tournament will arrive at The Boxing Den this coming week.

As the day goes on, a tense Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) snaps at Tommy (Sonny Kendall). Denzel (Jaden Ladega) is compelled to admonish Nugget to cool down because he is worried that people will start to suspect them for using steroids.

When Zack (James Farrar) posts a “Drugs Test” sign, people become alarmed, but in actuality, it serves as a warning. Unaware of this, Denzel disappears as the action is about to start.

Nugget sets out on his own to find him, but before he can even collapse on the sidewalk, he starts feeling sick from taking steroids!

2) Nugget is rushed to hospital

The teen’s kidneys aren’t functioning properly, the doctor informs Nugget’s family as he is rushed to Walford General after collapsing.

The doctor speculates that Nugget might have been using drugs, but the family dispels this theory.

The doctor is then approached by Nugget’s father Ravi (Aaron Thiara), who expresses Zack’s worries that his son may have been using steroids.

As they wait for news, Ravi and Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) rely on one another for support, and they don’t have to wait long to hear back.

Priya is taken aback when the doctor unexpectedly reappears and confirms that Nugget’s collapse was, in fact, brought on by his use of steroids.

3) The old and new Mitchells bond

There are other troubled teenagers on Albert Square right now than Nugget. Since classmate Kyle has been blackmailing him, Will (Freddie Phillips) has also been acting out.

Following Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Honey (Emma Barton)’s call to the school, things take a turn when it becomes apparent that Kyle’s father, Kevin, is the source of the problems.

After threatening Kyle and infuriating Kevin, Phil offers to assist Billy and Honey with Will’s predicament once more.

Teddy (Roland Manookian), a newcomer who recently came to light as Billy’s half-brother and Stevie’s (Alan Ford) son, advises the family to proceed with more caution.

Although Stevie is proud of his son’s work, he cautions him not to challenge Phil’s position as the Mitchell clan’s leader.

Later, Teddy and Phil start to get along when he suggests playing darts. But as the rounds progress, Phil starts to raise the stakes because it seems he can’t resist trying to outdo the rookie.

Teddy gives Billy advice on how to deal with Will, and this results in a touching exchange between Billy and his son. Billy makes sure to highlight Phil’s role and express his gratitude to Teddy for his assistance, indicating that he is aware that Phil is the family’s leader.

In order for the recently extended Mitchell family to get to know one another, Phil plans to host a lock-in at The Boxing Den. Teddy and Phil quickly become friendly, but Billy worries about their strange new friendship.

4) Priya and Nish strike a deal

Avani (Aaliyah James) tells Priya to stop ordering things with Suki’s (Balvinder Sopal) credit card without first asking.

Priya then makes Nish (Navin Chowdhry) an offer to secure her family’s future, and the pair come to an agreement.

The next day, Nish reminds Priya of their agreement and puts pressure on her, but what exactly have they decided and what does it mean for the Panesar family?

5) Harvey discovers Maya’s shocking truth

In recent weeks, Jean (Gillian Wright) has become increasingly wary of Harvey (Ross Boatman) and his new friend Maya (Bharti Patel).

Harvey also grows wary of the newcomer in the episodes airing the following week.

He is forced to call Maya and ask her to meet, so he has to postpone his romantic evening with Jean. Maya informs him that she had to sell her house due to financial difficulties as soon as they meet.

She does, however, leave a letter with her address on the front as she leaves. Harvey discovers upon picking it up that Maya does not actually reside in the same part of London as she claimed.

He hears a crash from inside as he makes his way to the address on the letter.

He encounters a distraught man as he bursts in—what has he walked in on?

Freddie, played by Bobby Brazier, inadvertently misinterprets the awkward encounter between Maya and Harvey.

Jean worries that their relationship is over when he goes to her place and informs her that he thinks Harvey is having an affair with Maya.

On Thursday, she prepares for a difficult conversation with her fiancé.

Harvey surprises her with his recent revelation about Maya’s true identity, just when she expects him to confess to cheating on her with Maya.

Harvey tells Jean that he has a plan in the second act of Thursday’s double bill, but she tries to talk him out of it by telling him that his plans are incorrect.

Will Harvey listen?

6) Denzel has his moment of glory – but for how long?

Despite his initial scare after seeing the ‘drugs test’ sign, Denzel returns and takes part in the boxing tournament after a pep talk from Yolande.

After winning his match, the teenager celebrates his victory. However, his joy is short-lived as he learns that Nugget is in critical condition in the hospital. Is it soon to be revealed how much of his steroid use Nugget took?

Denzel hides out at The Boxing Den after learning of Nugget’s collapse; Zack finds him there. Will he come clean?

7) Nugget is given life-changing news

In the first of Thursday’s two trips to Albert Square, Nugget regains consciousness, but he’s soon given some devastating news.

His kidneys have failed to respond to treatment, meaning he may need long-term dialysis.

Priya, Ravi, and the police all want to know who gave Nugget the steroids in the first place, but he remains silent and won’t turn on Denzel.

But how long will Nugget be able to keep the truth from his family?

8) Teddy tries to win Sharon over

After Phil’s impromptu lock-in at The Boxing Den, Sharon is angry to find that he and Teddy have left the gym in a mess.

Teddy invites her out for a drink in an attempt to make up for it, and as they spend time together, they can’t help but flirt.

Teddy tries to get Sharon to stay for one more drink at the end of the night, but she sarcastically declines and leaves for home.

Upon discovering the situation, Stevie cautions Teddy against pursuing Phil’s ex-wife (do you think?).will Teddy, however, heed his father’s advice?
