Next week, Ziggy Astoni from Home and Away causes a commotion on UK television when she mysteriously leaves her house.
Despite the recent arrival of a baby girl, Ziggy and her partner Dean Thompson are set to have some emotional difficulties.
After taking their new daughter home, Ziggy begins to lose patience with her infant because she doesn’t seem to be bonding with her.
Ziggy also feels exhausted from lack of sleep and is upset that the baby seemingly starts crying every time she comes near her.
In an emotional heart-to-heart, Ziggy tells Dean that she fears their baby hates her.
Dean dismisses this and assures Ziggy that she’s doing a great job.
Later, Dean is alarmed to find that he’s now alone with the baby at the Astoni farmhouse as Ziggy has mysteriously disappeared.
In his haste to start looking, Dean calls Ziggy a few times in a panic.
When Dean shows up at the Surf Club and announces that Ziggy is AWOL, Mali Hudson and Rose Delaney are both taken aback. They consent to assist in finding her.
Marilyn Chambers offers to look after the infant while Dean concentrates on the hunt because the diner’s staff is similarly concerned about the news.
When Justin Morgan arrives for work at the garage and discovers Ziggy dozing off in a car, the mystery is revealed.
Dean answers a call from Justin and rushes to the garage to check on Ziggy.
Ziggy admits how much she’s struggling and says she just wanted some rest and some downtime. Irene Roberts, who is sympathetic, intervenes to walk Ziggy.
While they are out together, Irene advises Ziggy, pointing out that she is being far too harsh on herself.
Ziggy learns to think more clearly after heeding Irene’s suggestions. Has Ziggy and Dean’s relationship taken a turn for the better as they give their newborn daughter the name Isabella “Izzy” Astoni-Thompson and consider the future?.
