Joshua Hewson of Home and Away has thought back on getting his dream job despite being told as a boy that he was “too shy” to act.
On Monday (June 19), the actor made his debut appearance as the enigmatic Andrew when Justin Morgan (James Stewart) found him semi-conscious.
Speaking candidly about his sudden stardom after growing up in poverty in Perth, Joshua said: “Technically, it’s a dream come true. It comes as a shock where I’m from.
“To this day, I still find it hard to believe. I am disoriented when I watch myself on TV. When I was younger, I didn’t imagine myself where I am now. I was too timid to work as an actress.

After arriving, Andrew was escorted to the hospital where he resisted being questioned and recoiled at receiving medical attention.
Andrew said he wasn’t permitted outside and confessed he didn’t know his own birthday in only his response to Justin.
When it was found that the teen is considered to have the social and emotional skills of a 9-year-old, the psychologist’s evaluation of Andrew only served to raise more concerns than it did to provide answers.
After Bree informed Justin that she could no longer keep Andrew at the hospital, Justin made the hasty decision to offer to have Andrew stay with him and Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou).
However, admirers are now questioning whether allowing the troubled kid into their home might have been a grave error.
