‘I still feel that love and always will. It will never fade.’
Lukas Radovich, a former Home and Away actor, expressed a heartbreaking personal tragedy by revealing the passing of his father on Instagram.
On Tuesday, Lukas, who portrayed Ryder Jackson on the well-known Seven drama for five years, uploaded a number of pictures with his father and said, “We lost our Captain.”
Before my family could begin their Italian vacation and be together for the first time in more than seven years, our Captain passed away, the actor stated.
“We bid farewell to beloved Maximus yesterday, and words cannot express our sorrow.
“So much loved and taken from us too soon.
Hearing about his achievements yesterday, nothing surprised me.
“But all spoke to the character of who he was as a person.
“Smart, funny, strong-willed, caring, adventurous, and loving.
“I still feel that love and always will. It will never fade.”
Lukas went on to write that his dad left behind “a long list of rules for life which I will continue to live by in his memory, but I’ll leave you with three.”
“The good wine is meant to shared, not saved.
“Stay curious.
“And never ever wear thongs on a plane. 💘💘💘💘”
In order to offer their sympathies to the family, fans and friends flocked to the comments area.
I know the sadness will last for a long time, but I can guarantee you that he will be with you in all you do, one person commented in response to the untimely loss.
I adore the three lessons.
“Such a beautiful tribute Luke 🤍🤍 sending you and your family lots of love Xx,” wrote another.
“Love and blessings to you and your family, Lukey,” said a third.
“He was such a lovely man and I’m sad that we won’t get to share our future with him.”
Some of the photographs Lukas shared including one of his dad holding him as a baby; his dad, later in life, steering a boat; and a more recent one of them sitting side by side.
“So sorry to hear about your dad, he sounds like he was a really special guy!” one fan said.
“Lots of love to you and all your family.”
In May of last year, Lukas made his exit from Home and Away official and thanked the cast, staff, and viewers for making his time there unforgettable.
What an amazing journey, he wrote.
“I’ll keep this brief because I can’t really describe how the past five years have felt or affected my life.
The actor said that although he would “miss the job,” he would miss the people more.
He gave special mention to the show’s director, Tony Gardiner, who directed his “final block with empathy”.
“And thanks to the FANS OF THE SHOW who’ve made the experience unforgettable,” he said, adding: “Until the next thing – catch you on the flipside.”
Since leaving Home and Away, Lukas has appeared on Broadway, appearing in a play called All His Beloved Children.
