“It was the most exciting thing ever!”

Star of Home and Away Lynne McGranger has admitted that she was originally taken aback to find that Shane Withington was dating his co-star from A Country Practice, Anne Tenney.

Although the Australian-paced episodes of Home and Away have lately included a false relationship between Lynne and Shane’s characters Irene Roberts and John Palmer, the actress revealed us about a real-life conversation they had a few years after Shane joined the drama.

She revealed to 7Life, “About two years after Shane joined the show, we were both in the green room and I said to him, ‘You married?'”

“He goes, ‘Yeah, I’ve got a partner, we’ve been together for 30 years’ at the time and I said, ‘Oh what’s her name’, and he said Anne.”

Shane and Anne appeared on Aussie soap A Country Practice together in the 1980s, Lynne admitting she “nearly died” when she found out they were a couple in real life.

“I was like, ‘Are you kidding me, are you two together in real life’?” she continued.

I unexpectedly transformed into a hopeless soap opera romantic because I was so thrilled that Brendan and Molly were genuinely dating in real life. The experience was the most thrilling ever.

After learning of their relationship, Lynne continued by stating that she and Shane “always got along and enjoyed working together”.

She continued, “He’s such a sweetheart and so much fun to work with.” “What I love about Shane is that he actually reminds me of myself,” the author said. “He’s not afraid to really go for it, go over the top, and then let the director pull it back.”
