Just how fast can the former Home and Away star’s beloved Subaru Impreza go?
Kate Ritchie, a former Home and Away star, got a taste of life in the fast lane when she went for a spin in Sydney with race car driver Kane Coleman.
On Wednesday, the NOVA radio host visited Sydney Motorsport Park with Coleman, who demonstrated the top speed of her 2018 Subaru Impreza (160 kph).Then she went on a wild trip with Luke O’Neill of the motorsport park, who took her for a 240kph spin in a McLaren racing vehicle.
In the video, Ritchie covers her face with her hands as the car shifts into drive and cries, “Oh my GOD!”
“Oh, geez!” She screamed, horrified and smiling at the same time.
“Do I have a chance?” “I don’t recall signing a waiver!”
Clinging on to her seatbelt for dear life, she screams: “Someone at Nova is going to be very … IN TROUBLE!”
The track turn came about as Ritchie gears up to give her Impreza away to one lucky Fitzy & Wippa listener on Friday.
For the past several weeks, listeners have been calling in to the radio station with their best joke, story or talent to impress the former Home and Away star and go into the draw to win her car.
Whoever wins the vehicle will also get a bunch of other prizes, including a new TV, concert tickets and cash.
One fan said she was going to “sew to win” on Ritchie’s Instagram page.
“I’m praying so hard!!!” The fan stated.
“If I win, I’ll sew for Kate and Australia.”
“Dog coats and dog cushions for everyone!”
One admirer questioned if Ritchie truly drove an Impreza.
“I love this! BUT let’s be honest Kate, you ain’t cruising around in an Impreza!” the fan wrote.
“Great car and all (I have one).
“But you’re a BMW chick … surely?!???”
In another video posted to Instagram, Ritchie took her former Home and Away colleagues – and 2023 Logie nominees – Emily Symons, Lynne McGranger and Ada Nicodemou for a quick Subaru inspection.
