Things are about to take a dark turn on Australian soap Home and Way after Felicity Newman’s drink is spiked, which leads to her being sexually assaulted while on a night out

Next week’s episode of Home and Away will feature a dramatic new storyline in which Felicity Newman is sexually attacked while out on the town.

Felicity will be shown supporting Lyrik at the Battle of the Bands contest in upcoming scenes that will appear on Channel 5. An unknown individual spikes Felicity’s drink, forcing her to drop unconscious.

When Felicity regains consciousness, she realizes she has been sexually raped.

She goes to the hospital, distressed, and receives comfort from her best friend Eden Fowler and local doctor Bree Cameron.

With frightening moments about to air on UK television, Felicity’s actress, Jacqui Purvis, told Digital Spy that she was “grateful” writers allowed her character to explore this element.

“The head writer, Lou, called me into her office and told me that the show would be putting Flick through a sexual assault storyline,” she explained. I was astonished and terrified at first, but she talked me through everything.

“I was so flattered that they thought I could do it.” I was extremely glad to be able to investigate this issue and raise awareness because it is something that needs to be reflected on television much more frequently.

“Fortunately, I was informed just before our vacation, so I had two weeks to prepare.”

The actress added that she conducted a lot of study prior to the narrative and also undertook hard training with her acting coach to get into the correct frame of mind.

In addition, she indicated that she had pals who had gone through similar terrible experiences.

Jacqui stated that she talked to her friends about their experiences in order to obtain a better understanding.

The star explained that her friend had also been spiked with the drug GBH so she was able to “talk me through the whole physicality of it”.

Jacqui went on to add that viewers will quickly see a change in her character Felicity’s behaviour as she comes to terms with the trauma and grief she’s experienced.

The traumatic experience will also have an effect on Felicity’s husband Tane but viewers will get to so see the strength in their relationship.
