Dan’s breakout role as Heath Braxton was a fan favourite with Home and Away viewers, with the actor even returning years later alongside Bianca Scott star Lisa Gormley
When Dan Ewing played Heath Braxton in Home and Away, he became well-known as the bad boy of Summer Bay.
Belonging to the River Boys gang, the actor debuted on the serial opera alongside the brothers of the characters, Daryl “Brax” Braxton and their younger sibling Casey.
He is a father to two children, but, outside of the entertainment industry.
How old is Dan and where is he from?
Dan was born on 3 June 1985, making him 38 years old. He also comes from New South Wales, where he was born in Manly but grew up in Forestville.
He is the eldest of four siblings and attended Marist Catholic College North Shore where he got his love for acting after starring in school musicals.
What has Dan acted in?
He had previously been on Home and Away in 2007 as a character named Reuben Humpheries, thus this wasn’t his first time playing Heath.
Heath left the Summer Bay, and he came back once more in 2021, this time as a cameo with the River Boys.
In the latter part of the 2010s, Dan travelled to the US in an attempt to take market share.
He costarred with Dylan O’Brien in the 2020 film Love and Monsters as Cap, however he disclosed in 2016 that he turned down a part that would have been his big break.
According to Dan, the reason he declined the film was that, as an Australian actor, they were willing to pay him less.
He has since appeared in a number of Australian productions.
Struggling with alcohol
Dan has opened up about struggling with alcohol and using it to deal with fame.
‘I had a lot of trouble. He commented on the ImperfectlyPerfect Podcast, “I was just some kid from the northern beaches, so to shoot to fame on the biggest show in Australia in Home and Away… I wasn’t ready.”
“I was really suffering from anxiety at the time, and I didn’t know it, but my partner wasn’t ready.”
He continued, saying, “I’d just kind of tip all this grog down my neck and get written off completely on the weekend.”
You try to pass it off as “Oh, it’s just steam blowing.” We have all engaged in it, and we all do it. However, I was simply unaware that there was a better approach and procedure.
Is Dan in a relationship?
Dan was previously married to fellow actor Marni Little soon. They tied the knot on 15 December 2012. Marni’s brother, Matt Little, also worked on Home and Away and took over the role of VJ Patterson.
Before divorcing in 2016, the couple welcomed their son, Archer, in September 2014.
At the moment, Dan is linked to the actress Kat Risteska. Their engagement was declared on December 24, 2021.
They named their daughter Nevaeh when they welcomed their first child together.
In honour of their seventh anniversary last month, Dan gave his fiancée a memento.
“Some things stay the same, some change,” he wrote.Who would have guessed that this would have happened after my weeks of harassment and outright stalking?
“Now, I would never support such behaviour. However, in my specific situation, it led to the meeting of the woman of my dreams and her adorable little clone, who also happens to think I’m amazing.
Handle that however you see fit.Cheers to @katristeska’s seventh anniversary! It certainly honours me to be eerily fixated on my Queen for eternity.
