Home and Away Spoilers – Dana hands herself in as Harper arrested

This week on Home and Away in Australia, as Detective Madden secures a warrant for Harper’s arrest, Dana is forced to hand herself over to the bent cop.

As fugitive Dana (Ally Harris) emerges from hiding and turns herself in to the dishonest city cop, Detective Will Madden (Jonny Pasvolsky) appears to be close to catching his prey this week.

Dana has been evading capture with the help of her sister Harper (Jessica Redmayne), ever since she was set up by her boyfriend Olly for stealing cocaine from her place of employment.

As Harper hid Dana in her new accommodations at the Beach House with the help of old friend Cash (Nicholas Cartwright), Cash learned that the entire case depended on only one crucial detail: that Dana’s passcard had been used to access the hospital stores.

When Madden, the chief investigator, drove up from the city and questioned Cash about why he had begun looking into the case, Cash immediately developed his doubts about Madden.

Cash realised that there was obviously something fishy going on when the hospital CCTV strangely went down at the exact moment of the robbery and Madden seemed to have overlooked the possibility that Olly may possibly be a suspect given his easy access to Dana’s pass.

When Cash glanced through Dana’s case file last week and discovered that her statement made no mention of the fact that she claimed to be out at lunch with Harper at the time of the crime, it appeared there had been a breakthrough.

Madden was directly informed of this by Dana, yet he did not take notice of her potential alibi or even make an attempt to verify it with Harper.

Making his own inquiries, Cash discovered that the restaurant’s CCTV system still contained the video from that particular day—clear proof that Dana was speaking the truth!

While Cash was on his way to the city to pick it up, Dana couldn’t help but use Harper’s phone to call Olly and inform him of the newly discovered proof and how he would lose.

Sadly, Madden had already been able to get the video by the time Cash arrived at the eatery. Cash at least had confirmation that Madden was corrupt and was conspiring with Olly to bring down Dana, even though Harper and Cash were upset that Dana had managed to blow her best shot at freedom.

Irene (Lynne McGranger), who visited her granddaughter in the city this week, returns home this week and quickly learns that she has a hidden lodger!

Irene would be perfectly within her rights to order both Harper and Dana to throw their hooks over the side, but after consulting with Cash, the bay’s kind matriarch chooses to permit the girls to stay.

Dana’s in real danger of going to jail for something she didn’t do,” Cash tells Irene in a promo for this week’s episodes. “Look me in the eye, and tell me I can trust these girls,” Irene responds.

Cash has to tell Irene that she would be breaking the law, even though she is persuaded enough by the story to assist.

In other scenes, Irene is shown telling Harper that she is not the type of person who would abandon two defenceless women and consoling Dana in the Beach House.

But the concerned wolves aren’t giving up. It’s already Madden’s opinion that Harper is talking to Dana, and Cash told the girls last week that he might already have monitoring equipment in the house.

Madden is probably aware that Dana called Olly using Harper’s phone, but he doesn’t want to reveal this because he knows it would reveal his relationship to Dana’s former partner.

As reported in TV Week, Madden pays a visit to the Beach House and demands to speak to Harper. Not bowing to Madden’s intimidation as Harper refuses to go anywhere with him, Irene stands up to Madden and tells him he’ll have to show her a warrant or get out of her house.

Madden reluctantly leaves, and starts to up his game further by bringing in reinforcement in the form of fellow corrupt cop Fletcher (James Biasetto). Meanwhile, Dana contemplates giving herself up but Cash tries his best to convince her to ride things out, having already requested that anti-corruption look into the case.

Cash simply isn’t willing to stand by and witness police corruption,” Nicholas Cartwright told TV Week. “The consequences are irrelevant to him, because he feels so strongly about his course of action.”But when Madden and Fletcher return with a warrant in order to arrest Harper, Dana feels she has no other option but to emerge from the bedroom and face Madden head on.

I’m the one you want,” Dana tells Madden, hoping that it will save Harper’s skin.

As a triumphant Madden gives Fletcher the order to cuff Dana, is Dana putting herself in a huge amount of danger?
