According to General Hospital teasers and rumors, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was reported to the FBI by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Warden Gartner (Diahnna Nicole Baxter).
The FBI evidently pursued Sonny despite the fact that the Pikeman intelligence that he planted and Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) supplied was false.

Cyrus was conducting his “church service” in the Pentonville chamber when Warden Gartner entered. She expressed her hope that their shared cause will continue to be successful after he assured her that everything was proceeding just as it was supposed to!
It’s unlikely that she was alluding to Cyrus’ church service unless she and Gartner are co-leaders of a cult, with Gartner serving as the “female boss”.
Austin had already given Cyrus the bogus Pikeman intelligence that Sonny had concealed behind a pill bottle’s interior cap for Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini) to discover. The FBI rushed in while Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was overseeing a Pikeman shipment on the docks and Sonny was enjoying dinner with his family.
GH Spoilers: Friends And Family Of Sonny Corinthos Are Shocked
Sonny, as well as his family and friends, were undoubtedly taken by surprise when the feds swept in. At the Metro Court, while dining with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) in full view of other family members, the FBI detained him.
While Michael and Willow Corinthos (Chad Duell, Katelyn MacMullen) restrained them from rushing the agents, Kristina and Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) also objected to Sonny being hauled away. Along with Eddie Maine/Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), and others, they all stared in horror.
Cyrus had preached of the Lord’s wrath and judgment falling on the unrighteous back in Pentonville, which appeared to be a parallel to the FBI bringing judgment down on Sonny.
Spoilers for General Hospital: Family Brainstorming Is Ineffective
Family brainstorming fails at Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) home in the meantime. All of the suspects—Carly, Michael, Dex, and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy)—believe that the data on the trashed flash drive Dex tossed away has been handed in.
Sonny didn’t respond when Carly tried to warn him to stop his supper with Kristina after receiving a tip from a Kelly’s patron.
While FBI and Coast Guard agents captured the remainder of Sonny’s men, Carly managed to reach Dex, who was able to flee.In the interim, Warden Garten and Cyrus discussed a shared motive, which seems to be eliminating Sonny after Cyrus handed over the flash drive!
