According to General Hospital spoilers, many viewers had a sneaking suspicion that Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) wasn’t who he claimed to be all along. Even though we still don’t fully understand who he is, we can be certain that he is a man who is full of secrets. They are familiar with Ava Jerome (Maura West), but ever since Austin entered the room following her nearly fatal collision with Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), she has allowed herself to open up to him about some of her darkest errors. However, Ava is sick of Austin giving her the runaround, and trying to use her charm to get Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) to tell the truth hasn’t helped either.
General Hospital Spoilers — What is Austin Hiding?
Austin might or might not be the villain his connections lead people to believe he is. It’s true that his childhood connections to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) don’t help his reputation.
Working for and expressing gratitude to the man doesn’t improve Austin’s character either. However, he might be more complex than first appears.
When he was questioned about why he was at Wyndemere the night Ryan Chamberlain and his gang showed up, his recent altercation with Nikolas served as proof of this.
Austin was hesitant to express to Nikolas any feelings other than those he had already expressed about Ava.
GH Spoilers Report His Feelings May Be Genuine
Mason and Austin may not have been involved in this from the start, as far as we know. It’s clear that Mason left Spoon Island with Nik’s nearly lifeless body, but that doesn’t mean Austin and Cyrus were on the same page at the time. Remember that he was attempting to leave that lifestyle in the past and break away from it. He might have only returned to the ring in an effort to defend Ava.
Even though his actions are far from pure, could his intentions be sincere?

It’s also possible that Austin and Mason initially teamed up to fight Ava, but that doesn’t mean Austin hasn’t since made the decision to follow his own path.
Since he arrived in town, he has made it abundantly clear to Mason that he wants nothing to do with either Cyrus or him, and he has personally followed up with Cyrus as well.
However, Austin still has Nikolas around, and it is clear that he hasn’t been honest with him either.
