On the east coast, Laura Sisk was given the name Laura Wright. She was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Clinton, Maryland. She began acting when she was a high school student. She appeared in a variety of plays. Allison “Ally” Rescott Bowman was her first on-screen character, appearing in the soap opera Loving. Starting in 1991, she played that role for five years. She also had a recurring part as that character at that time on All My Children.
She began playing Cassie Layne Winslow on Guiding Light in 1997. For eight years, she performed in that role. Finally, she was cast as Carly Corinthos in 2005. Since then, she has been portraying Carly.

Carly is a figure that some people adore while others despise. However, praise and awards have been given to Laura for her portrayal of the part. She has received seven Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Laura has also received a nomination from SoapHub for Favorite Actress on “General Hospital.” In 2011, Laura was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She was named SoapHub’s Favorite Actress on “General Hospital” in both 2020 and 2021. In addition, Laura’s performance in Guiding Light in 1998 earned her the Favorite New Character Soap Opera Digest Award. The fact that she has received so many nominations suggests that she is a popular and engaging actress.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Loved and Hated
Carly is the girl “you love to hate,” as was previously stated. She is renowned for doing this. With the majority of the other female characters on the show, she has had conflicts. She makes rash decisions and has a temper. In addition, Carly is utterly devoted to her friends and family. She drives you crazy while also being someone you want in your corner.
Throughout the course of the show, Carly has been in several relationships. The most notable ones involved Jasper Jacks (Indo Rademacher), Jason Morgan (Billy Miller), and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and she are presently dating.
