Fans began speculating about what would bring the Llanview resident back to Port Charles as soon as it was revealed that Kassie DePaiva would be playing Blair Cramer in another return to GENERAL HOSPITAL. And now that the truth has come out, just before her first episode airs on Friday, September 15! If you don’t want any spoilers, stop reading right now. But to be completely honest, if you’re reading this, you probably aren’t too worried about that.
TVLine.com has confirmed that Blair will be portraying the frequently mentioned third ex-wife of lawyer Martin Grey, as many fans had already correctly predicted. DePaiva will appear in scenes alongside Jane Elliot (Tracy) and Michael E. Knight (Martin) as part of this plot.
DePaiva and Knight did share the screen together back in 2010 when Tad met Blair as part of ABC Daytime’s “What If” webisodes. The pair encountered each other on a flight to Jamaica and, after comparing their disastrous love lives, they performed together in a fantasy musical number singing the song “I Suck at Love.”
DePaiva assumed the part of Blair on ONE LIFE TO LIVE in 1993 and continued to portray the well-known character until the ABC soap opera’s final episode in 2012. She then went to GH with a few other Llanview residents, but unlike Kristen Alderson’s Starr, Michael Easton’s John, and Roger Howarth’s Todd, DePaiva’s alter ego didn’t stay.
Blair declined Todd’s marriage proposal during those GH appearances because she was engaged to Tomás Delgado. And those episodes ended with Blair getting back together with Todd and secretly marrying him before he ran away in 2013, when DePaiva reprised the role for the sadly brief online reboot of OLTL.
This implies that Blair and Todd must have separated sometime within the last ten years in order for her to marry (and later divorce) Martin. However, if she has been paying him alimony for all these years, she must be doing quite well for herself. Blair operated the Shelter nightclub in Llanview in 2013. Maybe she went on?
