Prepare yourself for a throwback! Lois is Rena Sofer’s return to GENERAL HOSPITAL! According to People, the actress taped her first scenes for the ABC soap this week, and they will debut in October. Sofer rose to fame as a star of the soap operas after creating the beloved character of Lois Cerullo on GH in 1993. She stayed with the show until 1996, though she did make two brief appearances in 1997. In 1995, she was honored for her performance with the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Lesli Kay, formerly Felicia in THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and Molly in AS THE WORLD TURNS, played Lois when the character returned to the screen in 2004–2005.

Sofer continued to appear as a guest after leaving daytime television, appearing on shows like ELLEN, SPIN CITY, and FRIENDS. The actress made a comeback to soap operas in 2013 when she joined B&B in the recently created role of Quinn Fuller. She had previously played Eve on MELROSE PLACE, Grace on THE CHRONICLE, Vicki on JUST SHOOT ME, Susan on COUPLING, Christine on BLIND JUSTICE, and Marilyn on 24. Fans hoped she would make a comeback to Port Charles as soon as she decided to leave the CBS soap opera in August 2022.

The timing of Lois’ return is ideal because Ned, her ex-husband, is presently suffering from amnesia and thinks he is Eddie Maine, a different rock star persona.

The unusual situation is being slowly accepted by his current wife, Olivia, and she even appears to be warming up to this new personality, so if Lois returned, things would definitely pick up.

Stay tuned to find out what future turns are in store!
