A new Home and Away promo has teased that Justin Morgan will die in upcoming episodes, with Leah seen attending a funeral.

Australian viewers last week seen Justin (James Stewart) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) being held captive by members of the Vita Nova doomsday cult inside an empty warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

After Justin received a call notifying him that he had won a free luxury vacation for two as part of an initiative to reward local businesses, the two had already left Summer Bay for a pretended vacation.

The actual kidnapping took place off-screen, but we soon discovered that Vita Nova had set everything up by stopping Justin when he was driving and then abandoning the two at the secluded warehouse.

Justin reasoned that since there was no apparent way out and the doors were locked, climbing up a pipe might provide access. Unfortunately, as he continued to climb, the metal building above gave way and fell on top of him.

Leah ran to his side and freed him from the steel beams and metal pipes, but it didn’t take long for him to start coughing up blood and eventually pass out. Leah proposed to him just before he passed out, pleading with him to stay with her.

Leah ran to his side and freed him from the steel beams and metal pipes, but it didn’t take long for him to start coughing up blood and eventually pass out. Leah proposed to him just before he passed out, pleading with him to stay with her.

After initially collapsing and hallucinating both a passing car and Justin, Leah eventually regained the strength to keep walking, and finally bumped into a real passer-by, who was able to raise the alarm.

Bree (Juliet Godwin) was called in to treat Justin after he was taken by ambulance to the Northern Districts hospital. He had a lung rip and was critically dehydrated, but due to his frail health, operation was risky. Before they could even consider performing, they needed to stabilize him.

However, when Justin’s condition deteriorated, everything changed, and Bree informed Leah that despite the risks, they had no choice but to undergo immediate surgery.

Next week, Justin’s state will go from bad to worse, and a new promo shows that it could really be the end for Justin Morgan.

“They’re the Bay’s greatest love story,” is how the promo begins. “Destined to be together, forever.”

But, after footage of the metal structure collapsing on top of Justin, it tells us that “they may not have forever.”

We see Justin crashing once again, before Bree pulls Leah to one side and tells her, “you need to prepare for the worst.”

As Theo (Matt Evans), Leah and Alf (Ray Meagher) sit by Justin’s side as he lies unconscious in his hospital bed, we hear Theo say, “he’s dying. How’s that fair?”

The promo also shows Leah in floods of tears as she’s comforted by Alf, before a shot of her looking emotional as she holds Justin’s hand, while her fiancé remains unconscious.

“He’s having a run of arrhythmia,” says Bree with urgency, as she shines a light into Justin’s eyes.

Then, the promo takes an unexpected turn, as we see stylised shots of a funeral, underneath the sound of Leah screaming, “Don’t you dare leave me.”

“We can barely get a pulse.”

The funeral shots see Leah dressed in black and sat alone in a church, with a number of large unknown figures dressed in black in the rows behind her.

After Justin was taken to the hospital in Northern Districts, Bree (Juliet Godwin) was called in to see to him. He suffered a lung rip and was very dehydrated, but surgery was too risky for him at this point in his illness. They had to stabilise him before they could consider starting up.

But as Justin’s condition deteriorated, Bree told Leah that they would have to undergo emergency surgery regardless of the risks.

“We’re doing everything we can,” says Bree, as we see Alf, Leah and Theo standing outside Justin’s room as the doctors care for him inside.

Then, as Leah sits by his bedside, she tells Justin, “you’re gonna wake up, you have to prove them wrong.”

In another scene, Leah, who was sat alongside Theo in the hospital’s waiting area, stands up as Bree approaches.

“Is this it?” she asks, to which Bree nods her head.

“Is this the end for the Bay’s most loved couple?” the promo asks.

Naturally, it’s challenging for the Home and Away production crew to conceal arrivals and departures because a large portion of the show’s outdoor sequences are shot at Palm Beach, which is located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, about an hour north of the city’s central business district.

Fortunately, James Stewart has been sighted filming quite a bit lately, indicating that Justin’s stay in Summer Bay and on this planet is unlikely to end anytime soon.

Does that imply that Leah and Justin’s wedding will soon be seen?

Images shared from the final week of filming in July saw a formal event put up on the lawn next to the surf club, with stars Emily Symons (Marilyn), James Stewart (Justin), Ray Meagher (Alf), Ethan Browne (Tane), and Kyle Shill in attendance.

A series of photos shows that red is very much the theme of the occasion, with Marilyn sporting a red jacket, Justin wearing a red shirt and flower in his lapel, Tane in a crimson jacket, and even Alf sporting a red bow tie.

The timing would indicate that the filming is for episodes surrounding the season finale, with this apparently being confirmed to visitors on the Home and Away Tour.

While many have assumed that the formal celebration would end in a wedding, neither Shane Withington nor the members of the tour have acknowledged this.

John Palmer has been charged in recent episodes with planning a celebration honouring Alf’s lengthy service to the surf club, which implies that the formal event is more likely to be that.

But if Leah doesn’t change her mind, which seems unlikely given that she has already gone through one divorce, lost two husbands, had two failed engagements, and had declared she didn’t want to be married again,
