Actor Wes Ramsey has every reason to celebrate even though Peter August may be six feet under (does anyone really stay dead in Port Charles??).

Happy Birthday, Wes Ramsey

That’s because this talented performer is celebrating his 46th birthday today! He was born on October 6, 1977, in Louisville, Kentucky. Around the age of 12, Ramsey developed a passion for the performing arts and enrolled in a unique three-week training program at the Walden Theater, where he would spend the following seven years.

Ramsey immediately started the audition circuit after receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Julliard School in New York City, New York, and quickly found work on the CBS daytime drama serial Guiding Light.

He portrayed Sam Spencer there, the younger brother of Olivia Spencer, who was portrayed by Chrystal Chappell, a veteran of the soap opera industry.

Ramsey was still under contract there for two years, from 2000 to 2002, but he made additional appearances over the following six years. He tried his hand at comedy in the interim and eventually landed a part on the FOX sitcom Luis, but the show would only run for one season.

Ramsey eventually became a regular cast member of CSI Miami as Dave Benton, an audio/visual technician. Additionally, he appeared in several movies, such as Slippery Slope, Bitter Sweet, and Dark Honeymoon, as well as the WB series Charmed. He won praise from critics for his performance in the independent movie Latter Days.

Guest appearances on House M.D., Heroes, The Event, and Grey’s Anatomy are just a few of Ramsey’s other television credits. He played a major role in the web series Venice created by his former co-star Crystal Chappell. He also starred in the NBC primetime drama The Playboy Club.

He has made appearances as Henrik, a.k.a. Peter August, on the ABC soap opera General Hospital since 2017. He started dating Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos on the same television show, in the same year. Early in 2022, his character was killed off.
