Home and Away star Jonny Pasvolsky recently joined the Aussie soap as Detective Madden but fans may recognise him as the actor previously played a love interest of Roo Stewart

Fans of Home and Away were recently introduced to Jonny Pasvolsky’s character, Detective Madden.

Cash (Nicholas Cartwright), who is investigating Dana’s drug arrest (Ally Harris), met with Detective Madden on Monday, October 9, to discuss some of the issues related to her case. Following their meeting, Madden got in touch with a coworker.

“Get me everything you can on Senior Constable Cash Newman,” commanded Madden, fed up with Cash’s investigation into the case. Although Jonny, 51, is fast making a name for himself as the newest antagonist on the soap opera, this isn’t the actor’s first visit to the made-up town of Summer Bay.

In 2012, the actor portrayed Tim Graham, the ex-boyfriend and coworker of the recurring character Roo Stewart (Georgie Parker), in seven different episodes. Tim showed up in Summer Bay without warning, not long after Roo became engaged to Harvey Ryan (Marcus Graham).

Despite Roo ignoring his calls, Tim arrived from New York and revealed he wanted her back after splitting with his wife. The former flames came up with an idea on starting a business in the city, but Roo gave up the job after Tim kissed her, wanting to prove her commitment to Harvey.

During Tuesday’s (October 10) episode of Home and Away, Dana opens up to Cash about her drug charge and manages to convince him of her innocence. With Madden’s behaviour raising suspicion for Cash, he is determined to get to the bottom of the case.

Next week, after learning that Dana had gone out to lunch with Harper the day the drugs were stolen, Cash becomes perplexed and realizes that this information was never included in her statement, even though Dana has insisted that she told Madden.

Cash also realizes that the restaurant may have CCTV footage that could clear Dana. Meanwhile, Madden calls Harper in for questioning, and as the two leave the interview, Madden threatens them, saying he knows they are lying and things are going to get very messy for both of them.

Later, Cash heads to the restaurant to retrieve the CCTV footage but is shocked when he discovers someone else has already picked it up. Dana is ready to celebrate as she waits for Cash to return with the footage, but her mood is deflated when he reveals the bad news.
