Roo has been through a number of heavy storylines that include affairs and romance, but actress Georgie Parker has had a much more simple love life, as Daily Star finds out

Since making a dramatic comeback to the programme in 2010, Roo Stewart has established herself as a staple of the cast of Home and Away.

Roo has been a part of several bawdy storylines in Summer Bay, including romance, affairs, and temptation. However, as of right now, Roo is still in the hospital recovering from severe injuries sustained in a vehicle explosion.

The life of Roo’s actress Georgie Parker is very different from her Summer Bay role, even with all the twists and turns the character experiences. The 58-year-old and her partner, Steve Worland, have a happy life together after over three decades of dating.

Roo, Georgie’s on-screen character, is now recovering from horrifying injuries, so Daily Star is delving deeply into the couple’s developing past.

When Georgie and Steve initially got together in 1990, the Australian actress was thirty-three years old. By then, Georgie had established herself as a mainstay of Australian television, having portrayed nurse Lucy Gardiner in the series A Country Practise from 1988 until 1992.

Though things moved slowly at first, the couple eventually fell in love and remained lovers for nine years. The couple formally agreed to get married in December 1999 and celebrated the new millennium together with a small ceremony.

After a short while, the couple began a family when Georgie gave birth to their daughter Holly in September 2000. Parker has kept Holly, who is now 23 years old, out of the spotlight since her birth, saying that she wants Holly to make the decision about whether or not she wants to be in the spotlight.

Despite both working in the same industry, both Georgie and Steve are rarely seen together in public. The pair never appear on red carpet events together, with the exception of the 2015 premiere of the film Paper Planes.

In a very uncommon move, Worland, who was also the film’s screenwriter, attended the blockbuster’s premiere with his wife Georgie. Steve wore a black T-shirt and trousers on the red carpet, keeping things casual, while Georgie wore a maxi dress with a bold pattern and wedge sandals.

Parker appears happy living the life she does with her partner Steve, and she feels that she made a “conscious choice” to keep her family members out of the spotlight. Regarding her family, she was adamant: “I would never put [my daughter] in the public eye. She doesn’t have to start her own life to be known for her mother; she may be renowned for herself.”
