In Australia’s Home and Away series finale, Remi Carter is struck by a car, putting his life in jeopardy.
When tragedy occurs, Adam Rowland, who plays the beloved character from Summer Bay, is headed to assist Eden (Stephanie Panozzo). Eden is less than thrilled when Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) suggests taking her on a romantic camping trip vacation, but she tries her best to enjoy the small things in life.
However, when a tick is discovered buried in Eden’s neck, it appears that her escape may occur sooner than anticipated. Eden uses this as a pretext to sneak away and call her best friend Remi, pleading with him to come get her.
Nevertheless, Remi is hit by an approaching car as he is riding his motorcycle down the street. Remi’s lifeless corpse falls to the ground as he is flung from his bike and tumbles across the asphalt.
While Mackenzie (Emily Weir), the manager of Salt, recuperates from surgery, Summer Bay rallies around her following a nearly deadly heart attack. Supporters in Australia witnessed Mack’s diagnosis of spontaneous coronary artery dissection, a disorder in which a rip forms in the coronary artery wall.
“SCAD can slow or block blood flow to the heart, causing a heart attack, heart rhythm problems or sudden death,” Emily said. It can strike at any time in life and primarily affects women. Mac is under a lot of stress because the cause is yet unknown.”
After her life was saved by newcomer Levi (Tristan Gorey), Mack struggled to follow the cardiothoracic surgeon’s strict instructions to rest and recover. As she begins to come to terms with her diagnosis, the Bay is left reeling when she is found unresponsive at home and rushed to hospital for a second time.
As Bree (Juliet Godwin) and Levi rush Mack into emergency surgery, her loved ones gather round fearing the worst. The scenes will air in the UK in the new year, at the same time the new doctor makes his highly-anticipated debut.
Teasing what fans can expect from his character, the actor told 7 News: “Levi comes in during a really high-stakes storyline. He’s fighting to save the life of a central character. It’s the start of a big storyline that will go on for a while and will certainly have fans gripped.”
