Tony Maudsley shared a cheeky behind-the-scenes snap alongside some of his Benidorm co-stars, revealing a secret scene that even the most avid fans didn’t know about

Tony Maudsley, the star of Benidorm, has disclosed that there was a “secret” sequence that was never shown and it included a very famous person.

Alongside celebrities like Jake Canuso and Janine Duvitski, Tony played camp Kenneth Du Beke in the renowned British comedy series, which ran from 2007 to 2018. In a cruel turn of events, Rylan, an X Factor contestant, was also scheduled to participate, but his scene was tragically trimmed.

Tony posed with fellow co-star Adam Gillen and Rylan, wrapping his arm around his back, in a charming Instagram photo. As always, Rylan looked put together in a grey tank top with his black initials, while Tony looked great in his red Blow & Go t-shirt with the slogan “Let me tend to your split end.”

“When Rylan came to Benidorm,” Coronation Street star Tony said in the caption. He was a complete joy even when we filmed a fantastic moment with him for Blow & Go that, unfortunately, did not make the final cut in the show.

“One day they’ll dig out that cut scene you came and did and show it to the world!” he wrote after posting another photo. I might launch a campaign, but I bet they wouldn’t last long. In response, Rylan laughed quickly and said, “Haha, mate, I swear in my head I feel like I made it up lol!”

Soon after, admirers flocked to the comments section to speculate about what might have been. One wrote: “Oh what a tragedy. yet fantastic picture! I miss Benidorm so much—it was incredible. In Corrie, we require a Kenneth Du Beke. “OMG, I would have loved to see the clip; I bet you guys had a blast filming,” echoed another.

Another person said, “Can we find the original part? It would be interesting to watch.” And this is what a fourth fan wrote: “OMG, how could they cut Rylan?! That episode would have been legendary!

Derren Litten, the showrunner, revealed on his X account that he will be returning to screenwriting in a new capacity, saying, “It’s been a difficult decision but I have decided to return to writing for both television and theater.”

“I hope you will be able to witness the results of my labor in the near future. I have received very clear indicators recently that various TV stations are considering my decision. Naturally, rumors follow statements like these, but I want to be clear that the only reason I decided to leave retirement was so that I could spend less time with my family.

Following the comedy’s demise more than five years ago, fans speculated that more Benidorm may be on the way. One fan exclaimed, “Wonderful news! I hope a new Benidorm series is part of that. “You could make my [year] by saying you’re working on a return for Benidorm,” repeated someone else. Liam and Kenneth are necessary.
