Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has landed a new job on the BBC after his success on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Legend of Coronation Street Simon Gregson was beaming as he signed a new contract with the BBC, saying he “had a ball” on his new endeavor.
A popular figure on the ITV serial opera for more than thirty years, the actor is particularly well-known for his performance as Steve McDonald. Audiences were impressed with his time as runner-up on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! in 2021.
On Wednesday, April 10, Simon, who loves interacting with his 145,000 Instagram followers, posted a behind-the-scenes photo from a BBC studio on social media. He was shown with former EastEnder Danielle Harold, Chris Bisson of Emmerdale, and Lucy-Jo Hudson, his former coworker on Coronation Street.
Simon shared his pleasure in a post, saying, “Had a ball hanging out with old pals and catching up with the legend @rosskemptv.” On Saturday at 5:40 p.m., BBC One and iPlayer will broadcast Bridge of Lies.”

Though he said he would prefer to see Steve remain unmarried “for a while,” Simon said, “I think it would be great if we saw Steve having to go down the route of speed dating, online dating.”
“Steve could have a full on mid life crisis, maybe we could see him losing weight, changing his appearance, going to the gym” , he stated, “it could be a lot of fun and also a great excuse for me to make some changes in real life!”
