A Q&A with Coronation Street actors Mikey North and Ryan Prescott (not an ITV event) reportedly failed to sell out, with plenty of tickets unsold just hours before the show
Prior to a live event featuring Mikey North and Ryan Prescott from Coronation Street, hundreds of tickets were allegedly unsold.
The actors, who are best known for their roles as Ryan Connor and Gary Windass in the ITV soap opera, will be sharing “fun facts” and “behind the scenes stories of life on the cobbles” when they perform tonight (April 19) at the Medina Theatre on the Isle of Wight. Additionally, they had a VIP meet & greet scheduled.
However, The Sun claims that there were still plenty of tickets available hours before the show was scheduled to begin, despite customers’ inability to purchase them. The tabloid reported that there were still 286 seats available for the show, which was a private event not hosted by the soap opera, despite the facility having capacity for 425 people
An insider claimed it was “a really embarrassing situation” and “must be so disheartening” for the TV stars, who are both veterans on the cobbles.
The insider praised Mikey and Ryan, saying, “They’ll be professional and give the fans who do go a great time but to have so many unsold tickets is definitely unexpected.”
Last week, Medina Theatre promoted the event on its Instagram page, writing, “Hey Corrie Fans! Wonderful news! Don’t pass up the opportunity to see two Coronation Street stars perform live here on the island for only one night! Prepare yourself for an exciting evening of fun as they reveal secrets, behind-the-scenes tales, and more from the cobbles on Friday, April 19.
“Get your tickets now before they’re gone and be a part of this unforgettable experience! See you there!” According to the website, tickets cost £31.
The theatre’s website states that the event was being presented by the company Seamless Entertainment, who posted a picture on Instagram of the actors arriving at the Isle of Wight on a ferry before the show.
Mikey, 37, has been in Coronation Street since 2008. Ryan, 35, joined the soap as Ryan Connor in 2018. Ryan recently returned to the cobbles. He’s set for a dark storyline involving steroid use.
Coronation Street itself did hold a live event last September at its Tours building and tickets were snapped up, selling out in around two hours.
