Coronation Street star Catherine Tydesley looked worlds away from how she does today as an old clip from 2011 began doing the rounds on Twitter that left fans stunned

When she plays Catherine Tyldesley in Two Pints of Large and a Packet of Crisps, she has a completely different appearance.

The 35-year-old actress, who is most known for portraying ITV’s Eva Price on Coronation Street, has stunned fans with a rediscovered clip from 2011 that started trending on Twitter. The soap opera star didn’t look anything like she does now.

In the teaser, Cath portrays Amy, the administrator of the Job Center, who was a cruel bully when she was a student. When the main character Donna Henshaw, who is unemployed and down on her luck, is visited by her arch adversary, it brings back wonderful memories for her.

Fortunately, one fan had been watching re-runs of the comedy programme and decided to take to the internet to share the old clip with Catherine and the worldwide web. Tagged in the post, the former soap star responded with a slew of laughing emojis.

She penned: “The power of make up! But Thankyou! Xx.” It’s not the first time that Catherine has broke the internet for appearing totally different over the years. Back in 2017, the actress began to trend online after a similar one off clip surfaced.

Another acting gig from the same year (2011) also sent folk wild when they realised the Coronation Street bombshell had appeared on one episode of Channel 4’s Shameless. In the working class sitcom Catherine plays a rebellious character in the psychiatric hospital.

She meets Frank Gallagher (played by David Threlfall), who is a dishevelled alcoholic on the brink of a break down. Luckily for Frank, rough and ready Catherine lends and hand to bust them both out.

Just eight years ago the actress opened up about her incredible weight loss journey. In her teens, Catherine had been a dress size 22. But after she’d been fat shamed at a casting the aspiring actress set out to overhaul her life.

Doing just that, she managed to drop the lbs pretty quickly and before making her TV debut had slimmed down to UK dress size 10. The ITV soap star opened up about her weight following the birth of her first son, explaining at the time she was the healthiest and smallest she’d ever been.

Speaking to the Mirror at the time, Catherine explained: “When I look at pictures of myself from that time, it doesn’t look like me. I was a different person.”

Following the birth of her eldest child Alfie, Cath dropped even more weight. Now fitting into size 8-10 clothes.

In an interview with the Daily Mail after slimming down more, the TV star said: ‘In terms of body shape, I’m the smallest I’ve ever been. I’ve got nothing to complain about, I’m healthy. I actually keep a picture from when I was big on my phone to remind myself just how far I’ve come.”
