For Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), who was wrongfully imprisoned, the hell only gets worse in Emmerdale.

Even at the possible expense of their marriage, Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) have been making a lot of effort, but to no avail, to get Matty released.

Despite the fact that his terrible friend Josh actually shoved him onto the knife, Samson Dingle (Sam Hall), who believes Matty intentionally stabbed him, is standing by his accusation that Matty did it on purpose.

Matty made the stupid mistake of trying to coerce Samson into telling the truth before he was imprisoned. Instead, he ended up being sent to jail and kept on remand for violating the terms of his bail.

Matty has no chance of having his charges withdrawn because the robbery case has also been dropped.

His fear has been intensifying daily, and he is making a valiant effort to conceal his transgender identity by skipping the shower and not taking his medication. Even though things are already terrible, they will only get worse.

When Matty asks Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) not to come, she becomes enraged and worries about Matty’s intentions. Matty is put in a better mood for a while after their phone conversation; he even smiles when it ends. However, a new horror awaits him as he turns.

Les, his new, vicious cellmate, is standing there in his cell. Les quickly establishes the tone between them by making cutting remarks and quips that terrify Matty and make him worry for his safety.

When Cain visits Matty, he notices that his mood has soured. He makes an attempt to cheer him up, but inevitably fails when Matty reveals that Les is the reason he is only sleeping with one eye open.

Cain tries to get him to toughen up and use violence against anyone who tries to threaten him, but his fear nearly overflows as he struggles to control his feelings. However, they both realize Matty isn’t that kind of guy.

As Matty realizes that his safety is actually in jeopardy, the seriousness of the situation dawns on him.

If not even Cain can save Matty, then what will happen to him?
