After weeks of conjecture, Coronation Street fans believe they know who is trying to harm Abi Franklin, and it could not be Cassie Plummer or Stefan Brent.
The additional sequences might have given the impression that Abi wasn’t the one behind the deepfake porn movies, even if both personas were heavily favored to be exposed as such. Although fans have long suspected Cassie of being the culprit, other viewers doubt her ability to pull it off.
Fans were certain that Stefan was the father of Corey Brent after their feud, but Wednesday’s episode raised the possibility that he wasn’t. Even though Abi and Kevin insisted that he was at fault, Stefan became very protective and helped the police with their investigation, saying he had nothing to conceal.
Is Stefan withholding the truth or has he been ruled out now? Is Cassie adept at concealing her activities, or is it possible that she has no involvement at all?
Viewers are beginning to believe that Joel Deering, the new villain, is the one behind the recordings and that neither of them is at fault. His disdain for women has been evident since he was exposed as a child molester and a person who manipulates young girls, in addition to his murder of Lauren Bolton.
After Stefan seemed to claim his innocence, others took to social media to speculate that Joel or perhaps newcomer Kit Green were at fault. “I think the troll is Joel or Kit,” a fan commented. As a third person commented, “At first I thought it was Cassie, but I think you might be on to something either Kit or Joel,” another person responded, “Same.”
It happens when Kit’s connection to Bernie Winter is made public, and he was recently spotted assisting Nathan Curtis in setting up Lauren’s murder. Joel, who had been grooming Lauren for months, also set up Nathan, knowing full well that he was the one who attacked her.
Although the motivations behind Joel’s targeting of Abi remain unknown, it appears that there is still more to learn about him. But is Stefan really lying about his innocence when he may have the strongest reason to target her?
