Classic episodes of Coronation Street are currently airing on ITVX and ITV3, and former star Lucy-Jo Hudson has shared her reflections on her role as “killer” Katy Harris.

The actress posted a collection of stills from her time on the cobbles, complete with her character’s gravestone, on Instagram. She wrote that she was shocked that 22 years had gone since the episodes debuted.

“A small reminiscence,” wrote Hudson. “I’m laughing so hard at these photos because, yes, that is me!

“A few of you have messaged me stating that I’m back on ‘Classic Corrie’ on ITVX and ITV3. It’s amazing to me that they’re still airing these episodes. Oh my god, those years flew by.”

She added: “I did love playing ‘Killer Katy’ it was a heavy emotional storyline but it pushed me out of my comfort zone and I learnt so much on this job.”

In 2002, Hudson—along with Richard Fleeshman as Craig, Thomas Craig as Tommy, and Kathryn Hunt as Angela—joined the cobbles as Katy, a member of the Harris family.

A 2005 storyline titled “Killer Katy” featured her dating 20-year-old Martin Platt before she had an abortion, killed her father, and eventually committed suicide.

“I learned so much from them all,” Hudson wrote in a reflection on her time in the role, thanking co-stars Fleeshman, Craig, and Hunt for their support. They were amazing. I had never worked in television before, and what a job it was!”

“I feel so fortunate that I’ve been able to play such amazing characters over the years,” she continued. I’m eager for the upcoming role! My job is something I love!”

Hudson made appearances on shows like Doctors and Wild at Heart after leaving Corrie. She most recently portrayed Donna-Marie Quinn on Hollyoaks, where she appeared from 2018 until the beginning of this year.
