After watching a soap opera, viewers frequently ask themselves, “Now where have I seen that actor before?”

William Ash from Emmerdale, who has a ton of television experience, is similarly qualified; however, do you recall his appearance in Coronation Street?

The actor joined the Yorkshire-based soap opera in 2022. He is most known for playing Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) estranged half-brother, Caleb Miligan.

Before that, he had a significant part in Waterloo Road as Chris Mead, the deputy head, who had a romance with the adolescent daughter of his employer.

In addition, he has a number of connections to Corrie; his second cousin Peter Ash plays Paul Foreman, and he has even appeared in the Manchester-based series twice.

In August 1987, he portrayed a child named Spike who went to a street charity event. Fifteen years later, he came back as Johnny James, a thief who threatened to shoot four popular people on the street.

An image of Will from 2002 was released by a soap fan on social media earlier this year, sparking a surge of interest in the disputed episode.

The original post alluded to Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, and Megan Mullally’s planned roles in the comedy The Fabulous Four.

“I hope they never stop making movies about groups of four older women getting into some sort of shenanigans,” stated an X/Twitter user, quoting the statement.

Superfan of soap operas In response, Chris shared a photo of Johnny James brandishing a revolver at Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox), Emily Bishop (Eileen Derbyshire), Blanche Hunt (Maggie Jones), and Betty Williams (Betty Driver).

In the episode, Rita’s seventieth birthday was being celebrated with a quiet day in the country, but before long, the four women stumbled upon Johnny, who was evading the police after setting up a raid at a remote post office.

Johnny mentioned that he had run out of petrol and needed to get to the hospital to see his mother who had just been rushed in.

The women fell for his story and gave him a lift, but panicked when they noticed the stolen cash bulging out of his holdall and started to skid across the road before coming to a halt.

After pulling out a gun in an attempt to hijack the car, Emily froze in the back seat, recalling the time her husband Ernest (Stephen Hancock) was killed by armed robbers in the office at Baldwin’s Casuals in 1978.

Johnny was about to drive off with her when Rita snatched the ignition key out of the lock and began to hit him with the car door and her hand bag.

Fortunately, the police arrived quickly, and he was taken into custody while the women went to the police station to provide their statements.

Ahh, nice memories.

One viewer retorted, recognizing the behavior as strikingly similar to Will’s Dales alter ego: “That Caleb!” Always a troublemaker!

“People of Twitter,” legendary screenwriter Daran Little continued. I would really like a high-resolution JPEG of this image for my workplace wall since I authored this EP. Anyone able to assist?
