Lucy Fallen, a Coronation Street actress, recently shared her reasons for going back to the Cobbles after leaving the show four years prior.

The 28-year-old actress, who plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap opera, acknowledged that she needed some time off but said she doesn’t regret quitting the program at the time she did.

The actress gave The Sun an explanation of her initial departure, saying, “I needed that time away.” I didn’t go out and complete a lot of work-related tasks. However, I believe that I accomplished a great deal in life.

All I needed was that. I have no regrets about leaving. At the time, it was unquestionably the right thing for me to do. Nevertheless, returning myself was also the appropriate course of action.

She did, however, admit that returning to the show wasn’t easy, saying that her first day back made her feel a little off.

“I felt different and a bit weird on my first day,” she confessed.

But after returning to the show for a week, she admitted that it seemed like no time had passed.

Lucy, who plays resident journalist and self-appointed investigator Bethany, made a comeback to the show last year because the writers believed her character was essential to narrating Lauren’s story.

A producer called the star in April of last year to confirm that she would be returning to the story through a grooming plot.

Though she has had to keep the information from her closest friends and family, Lucy is among the select few who have known Lauren’s fate for months.

The celebrity claimed, “I always forget anyway,” and that she never says anything to her family because everyone knows not to ask.

The actress said in a statement to MailOnline that she decided to leave the show when her contract expired in 2020 after making a “very difficult decision.” She later claimed in a tweet that her departure “had nothing to do with anyone who worked on the show.”

“I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020,” she stated, capping off the most incredible four years.

It’s difficult for me to express how much I value this show. I’ve laughed every day with the most amazing people and have formed lifelong friendships with some of the most gifted and diligent people in the business. I’ve also had some fantastic and hugely significant storylines.

“I owe everything to Iain and the entire Coronation Street team; I will really miss them,” the speaker expressed gratitude to the group.

Lucy Tweeted that she had decided to leave and that it had nothing to do with anyone at Coronation Street. She continued to elaborate on her choice. I won’t be taking this lightly, and I will miss each and every one of you.

“I’m eager to spend my last year at the greatest place!” woo

“Lucy advised us at the start of this year that she would like to leave at the end of her current contract in 2020 to pursue other projects,” producer Iain MacLeod continued.

“She is a phenomenal performer who has centered some enormous stories for us throughout her tenure on the show.”

“I am confident that she will continue to achieve great success in her career beyond the cobbles, and I wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors, beginning with the exciting conclusion to Bethany’s story!”

‘It’s a nightmare blow for bosses after losing Faye Brookes and Katie McGlynn so close together,’ a source told The Sun, adding that the show is in disarray.

“Lucy believes that this is the ideal time to try new things. She has been in Corrie for just under five years.”

There isn’t any hostility there and everything is friendly. In the event that Lucy decides to return in the future, the bosses are eager to keep the position of Bethany open.
