Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon is having a girl!

The actress, 28, who portrays Bethany Platt in the ITV soap opera, announced she is expecting her second child with her footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson last month.

And on Sunday, Lucy shared the exciting news that her son Sonny Jude was going to have a little sister.

In the Instagram clip, the soap star and partner Ryan Ledson were seen staring at their phone in awe with Oasis’ Songbird playing in the background.

The end of the video then showed a pink baby grow which read ‘little sister’.

It comes after Lucy announced she was expecting.

Sharing an adorable video to Instagram earlier this month, Lucy revealed she was ‘half way there’ while cradling her small baby bump.

The soap star and Ryan, 26, who plays as a midfielder for Preston North End, welcomed their first child, Sonny Jude, in January 2023.

Sitting with, Sonny, the couple could be seen as they read a book with the tot, before the camera cut to a positive pregnancy test and an ultra sound.

Lucy and Ryan met through friends back in 2017.

The soap star recently revealed she wants to have two more children, but it seems Ryan is going to need some convincing.

Talking about the future on ITV’s Drama Queens in April , the midfielder said: ‘Maybe one more’ as Lucy protested: ‘Two more’.

Ryan argued back: ‘One more for me, like’.

Lucy then had the final word as she added: ‘Two more. I have the uterus.’

The actress also opened up about her frustrations that Ryan is yet to pop the question.

Lucy shared: ‘I think everyone thinks that being with a footballer, is going to come with loads of glamorous things – but Ryan is really, really normal. He’s a normal lad from Liverpool.

‘I am not engaged. It’s actually become a bit of a running joke now, but I think the more that I go on about it, the longer it’s going to be. Maybe I need to stop talking about it and then it’ll happen… maybe.’

The actress returned to her role as Bethany Platt on the ITV1 soap at the beginning of this year and now her character has teamed up with lawyer Dee Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) to find out what happened to Lauren Bolton.

Resident journalist and self-appointed detective Bethany and she previously returned to the show last year as the writers thought her character was crucial to telling the story of Lauren’s fate.

The star received a phone call from a producer last April who confirmed that a grooming plot would bring her back into the story.

Lucy is one of the few people who has known Lauren’s fate for months, however, she has had to keep the secret from her nearest and dearest.
