EastEnders Legend ‘Set to Be Rocked’ by Shocking Baby Bombshell

Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) is making a comeback to EastEnders, and it seems like she won’t be by herself.

In 2021, Ruby departed Walford to take her maternity leave with Louisa. Ruby was framed and imprisoned during the departure narrative, where the Slaters created the impression that she was operating a cannabis grow out of their garage.

At the time, Ruby and Martin (James Bye) were in a complicated relationship, but things started to fall apart when Martin learnt Ruby had told multiple lies in order to send Stacey (Lacey Turner) to prison beforehand.

Just before Ruby left Albert Square, she told Martin that she’s pregnant with his baby. Martin failed to believe her but when she got in the police car, Ruby was seen holding a positive pregnancy test.

Considering Ruby was on her own at this point, we’d be very surprised if the test wasn’t true.

This, of course, sets us up for a dramatic moment when Ruby gets back to Albert Square and Martin comes face to face with his son or daughter.

How will both Martin and Stacey react?

Speaking about her return, Louisa said: ‘I am thrilled to have been asked back to the Square to revisit Ruby once more, and to shed some light on what the past three years have been like for her during her time away from Walford. I’ve always loved playing Ruby as there is never a dull moment and I cannot wait for everyone to see what Ruby has in store.’

Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Louisa Lytton back to the role of Ruby Allen. Ruby’s departure from Walford left many unanswered questions for Martin and Stacey, and her return is sure to unearth a whole heap of drama for her character and all those involved.’

Ruby’s return is happening as part of the lead up to EastEnders’ 40th anniversary. So far, we’ve welcomed back the likes of Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), Penny (Kitty Castledine) and Bianca (Patsy Palmer) – and they just keep on coming.

Back in Walford next week will be Chrissie Watts (Tracy Ann-Oberman) and before 2024 ends, we will also see Michael French reprise his role as David Wicks.

Speaking about his Albert Square comeback, actor Michael French said: ‘I feel honoured to be asked to reprise the role of David Wicks once again.

‘It may only be a brief visit, but we know from his past that David never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time.’
