Coronation Street star Jane Danson has issued a sweet statement to her co-star Georgia Taylor amid an on-screen betrayal
Coronation Street’s Jane Danson, who portrays Leanne Battersby, sent a touching message to her on-screen sister Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) amidst dramatic scenes of betrayal on the cobbles.
The soap is abuzz after revelations that sisters Leanne and Toyah have been at loggerheads. Earlier this week, viewers were shocked as Leanne unearthed the truth about Toyah’s secret romance with her beau Nick Tilsley.
It all started when Leanne got drawn into Rowan Cunliffe’s cult, The Institute, which led to her separation from her sister and Nick, setting the stage for an affair between Toyah and Nick as they grappled with her cancer struggle.
As the plot thickened, the pair found themselves blackmailed by Rowan, who hired a private investigator to click compromising photos of their infidelity. Meanwhile, Leanne got wind of Rowan’s sinister side after Amy Barlow’s unwittingly invested £40,000 in his fraudulent scheme.
A chance look at his laptop exposed sordid images hinting at Toyah and Nick’s liaison, prompting a gut-wrenching confrontation, reports the Mirror.
Following the gripping episode, Jane took to Instagram to post an endearing photo with Georgia Taylor and affectionately captioned it: “We love eachother really @realgeorgiataylor Our Lee andToyah forever” complete with a symbol of love.
Emrhys Cooper, star of Rowan, responded to the post with a series of heart emojis. Kate Ford, known for her role as Tracy Barlow, commented: “Gorgeous ladies x” accompanied by hearts.
Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt, remarked: “Oh my god! Two of the most beautiful, talented and incredible women I’ve ever had the pleasure to know! ! Jane has portrayed the iconic character Leanne since 1997 on Coronation Street, while Georgia has also been playing Toyah since 1997 on the popular ITV soap. The two characters have experienced a multitude of dramatic storylines over the years.
