Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) and Ryan’s (James Moore) relationship has mostly flown under the radar of late, what with Matty (Ash Palmisciano) being wrongfully imprisoned, Belle’s (Eden Taylor Draper) explosive storyline, and an enormous barn fire.
But their coupledom is on course for its own fireworks and centre stage.
They go way, way back, having had a baby together when they were youngsters, whom they gave up for adoption. They broke up after this but found their way back together when Gail showed up in the village.
Their relationship was tested to the max last year when their adopted son showed up on their doorstep wanting to get to know them.
Further turmoil ensued when they learned he had cancer and needed them to be his bone marrow donor. Just as they started to get to know him, his adoptive mother banned them from seeing him.
They went through the wringer when Sophie, Oscar’s adoptive mum, lied and told them that Oscar wanted nothing to do with them.
When they discovered the truth, their relationship was put under strain as Gail chose to forgive Sophie while Ryan very much still carried a burning hatred.
Since then though, it’s all seemed hunky dory between the two, with the odd hot date keeping their romance alive. That is until Gail now drops a bombshell out of the blue.
She tells Ryan that she wants to find a new place to live – and she wants to live alone.
This rocks Ryan to the core; having had no clue she felt this way.
Blindsided and hurt, now he must go on the charm offensive to convince her to move in with him, but it seems like her mind is pretty made up. Will he be able to save his relationship or is it too late?
