Dee-Dee Bailey plays a voicemail she received from her ex-partner Joel to DS Lisa Swain, who believes it might be a suicide note. Joel uses his phone signal to let Kit Green locate him last. Kit discovers Joel’s car parked on a bridge with a folded letter on the dashboard. Lisa discloses that they are now searching for Joel’s body in a terrifying turn of events, but did the shady solicitor actually commit suicide?

To atone for Fiz’s poorly executed birthday celebration, Tyrone Dobbs arranges a romantic meal. A frightened Fiz makes an appointment with her doctor after feeling lightheaded at work.

Billy Mayhew and Bernie Winter are still at odds over Paul Foreman’s funeral following his untimely MND death. Billy offers to Bernie that they pick the flowers together because the vicar and his mother-in-law are having trouble deciding what kind of send-off to give Paul, and this leads to yet another disagreement.

Bernie confides in Dev Alahan that although she may not be able to give Paul the burial she had hoped for, she will nonetheless locate a fitting location for his ashes to be buried. For her departed son, what plans does Bernie have?

Elsewhere, Stu Carpenter is stunned to find Mason Radcliffe already at work, explaining that he spent the night in the restaurant to avoid more abuse from his brothers. Stu has been in a similar situation before, but will he be able to help the troubled teen?

Meanwhile, Sarah Platt is unable to access her voicemail from Turkey and asks Adam Barlow to check them as she’s waiting for news from a loan company. As Adam listens, he’s astonished to find one from her imprisoned ex Damon Hay.
