Every fan has their own opinion about General Hospital, and Soap Hub is no different. We watched everything—the good, the bad, and everything in between—for five days, and now we’re here to give you a helpful recap and a lighthearted analysis of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: The Critic’s POV

There’s a reason I’ve been calling the PCPD members the Keystone Koppers for so long. Few of them have the sense that God gave geese (how else to explain Dominic Zamprogna’s Dante’s apparent inability to ever piece together the clues dangling right in front of him?) and many of them are corrupt (Bob Hastings’s Burt Ramsey, for example). Their rank and file have always been suspect (former double agent Anna Devane’s main squeeze was Scottish mob lackey Duke Lavery, played by Ian Buchanan).

But what does the fact that they didn’t even open the crates taken from the docks before dragging Sonny (Maurice Benard) into court say about (General Hospital’s portrayal of) the FBI? There are two types of stupidity: incompetence and pure stupidity.

Further GH Musings

I Know What You Did Last Summer-inspired theatrics have replaced high-stakes spy games in Anna’s (Finola Hughes) story all of a sudden. * As enjoyable as it was to watch Kassie DePaiva strut across the set in her skintight skirt and blunt bob that could sever a throat, the revelation that Blair Cramer was Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) third ex-wife was the height of anticlimax, not the least of which is the fact that it forces GH to sweep both Blair’s reunion with Todd (Roger Howarth) and her crucial search for Tomas Delgad

Thus, Tracy (Jane Elliot) wants to acquire Lucy’s (Lynn Herring) 1% ownership of ELQ. A motivation that makes sense, FINALLY.

* Why was Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) brought back to life? Mission accomplished if the goal was to further establish the character as a scumbag and a deadbeat father! * While it’s commendable that GH is now willing to invest in its youth scene, I can’t help but feel that Aiden, Charlotte’s former tormentor, will be necessary to make Jake and Charlotte’s flirtation with each other into peak television. Weekdays, ABC broadcasts General Hospital. For airtimes, check your neighborhood listings.
