Just days after making his ballroom debut, Strictly star Bobby Brazier has been given a shattering blow when his Inside Soap Awards performance for EastEnders fails to live up to expectations.

Bobby Brazier, a star of Strictly Come Dancing and the show’s hot favorite to win the prized Glitterball, took a sad loss at the Inside Soap Awards 2023.

Channique Sterling-Brown, who portrays Dee-Dee Bailey in Coronation Street, triumphed against Bobby to win the Best Newcomer Award.

Bobby, who last month won the Rising Star Nation Television Award for his portrayal of Freddie Slater in EastEnders, is probably disappointed by the defeat given that the award was entirely determined by fan voting.

The young actor has gained popularity since joining Eastenders last year and is the betting favorite to win Strictly.

This evening, on September 25, the Inside Soap accolades 2023 were held. Despite Bobby not receiving a prize for his soap, EastEnders still won the most accolades, including Best Actress for Danielle Harold, Best Actor for Jamie Borthwick, and Best Young Performer for Isabella Brown.

Bobby, however, might take solace in the fact that he dazzled Strictly spectators on Saturday night when he made his ballroom debut. Even his proud father Jeff Brazier had shed tears after seeing him.

On Saturday night, professional dancer Dianne Buswell and Bobby gave the judges “goosebumps” with their rendition of the foxtrot to McFly’s “It’s All About You.”

Bobby made a joke about Dianne becoming his children’s “auntie” as she gave him a bear hug.

The 20-year-old quipped that he was going to “miss the Foxtrot” as he received 29 points for his effort.

“The latest figures suggest Bobby Brazier is very much the one to beat,” claimed Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati.

However, Krishna Guru-Murthy has received a double-crushing blow, he continued.

In addition to being the clear underdog to win the race this year, only 1.4% of bettors have supported him thus far.
