When Darren and Courtney Vance, a couple from Coronation Street, initially visited Weatherfield in June, they expected to aid Dev Alahan in expanding his enterprise.
Ryan Early, who plays Darren Vance in Coronation Street, has hinted that he will exact revenge if he learns about Courtney Vance’s (Stephanie Davis) relationship with Aadi Alahan.
Courtney didn’t wait long to start having an affair with Aadi, leaving Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvany) as the sole person aware of their connection.
Actor Ryan Early has teased his “heartbreaking” and “toxic” sequences in which Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Darren will learn about their relationship.
Ryan explained to The Mirror: “When somebody is put in the worst situation possible, you get to see every aspect of them.
“When he’s at his worst, he takes on another identity—a man who has been attacked. And a man has the option to exact revenge when attacked. He’s a genuine guy in a genuine circumstance.
What I want for Darren is that he will continue to think about all of these things, including what it’s like to be a man in his 40s in a second marriage and all the things that go along with it and a marriage to someone like Courtney.
“I believe I want to show the real side to it and not play the pantomime villain, but rather show the real responses and show a real person,” the speaker said.
He continued by saying that Darren hasn’t yet lost it in front of the camera and that viewers will witness a different side of him when he finds the will to maintain his relationship with money.
When asked what Darren’s future in Weatherfield would entail, Ryan sighed, “I think he knows Courtney so well and he wouldn’t let her just leave without a struggle.
All I can say is that you’ll watch a husband who adores his wife have his entire life upended by the least likely of circumstances and by the least likely of people, leaving him feeling humiliated.
After going AWOL on the cobbles for a few weeks, Darren and Courtney are finally back from their vacation together this week.
