Even though Asher Antonyzyn debuted as Danny Moran on GENERAL HOSPITAL in November 2023, the young actor didn’t get to play a more significant role until March 2024, when the child’s father, Jason Morgan, returned to Port Charles after being assumed to have passed away. And with increasing screen time came increased travel from his Chicago home to the California set of the soap opera.
According to Antonyzyn, “at first, I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll probably just be here for a week or a couple of weeks and then [away for] four months.'” “And since Danny never really had a storyline with him, maybe I’ll come out here a lot more and be able to do that with him,” I thought to myself when Steve Burton returned as Jason. And then it took place! That was really nice, then.
In addition to being Antonyzyn’s daytime debut, GH marks his acting debut. He has also been learning a lot about the ins and outs of television production. Moreover, he’s discovered that he detests seeing himself perform!
He acknowledged, “I don’t really like to watch myself, but I did watch myself in my first scenes.” “Yes, I am exactly the same way,” Steve Burton said to me when we were discussing it. I dislike observing myself since that’s when I tend to overthink things. “Yeah, that is very true,” I replied. I cringe every time I see myself!
However, the rookie is having fun working with all of his new co-stars on GH, including Burton, and he’s excited to investigate Danny and Jason’s relationship now that they’re back together. And he thinks that his persona is unquestionably carrying on his father’s legacy—which could spell disaster down the road!
“I think playing that would be a lot of fun,” Antonyzyn said. “I believe that will occur. I mean, there are so many times that people tell me, ‘Danny, he’s just like his dad!'” If Jason is not sent away once more, I believe that he and Danny will become quite close.
