Fans of EastEnders may have thought that the soap opera was building to a serious relationship between Michelle Collins’s character Cindy Beale and Micah Balfour’s character Junior Knight, but there will be a surprise next week.
Recently, behind Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) back, the two had a passionate night in Beales’ Eels, of all places.
Junior had believed differently, and it is evident that they still have connection, despite Cindy’s insistence that their sultry rendezvous was an isolated incident.
But in the events that follow, Junior’s focus is drawn away as he becomes more intimate with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).
Lauren is insulted by Junior’s suggestion that her son Louie might be having difficulties in school, thus their start of the week is not good.
After an apology and a drink at The Vic, it appears like understanding has been reached, and Junior offers to connect Lauren with a Louie supporter.
As the week goes on, it becomes clear that there is a spark between the two, which runs the risk of upsetting Peter Beale (Thomas Law), who is itching to get back together with Lauren.
However, Cindy’s relationship with Ian appears to be in jeopardy as she and her son Peter learn that he is keeping something from them, just as Junior is becoming more intimate with Lauren.
Soon after they follow him surreptitiously to an unknown address, the Beale family receives a shock.
Given Cindy’s reputation for being envious and the difficult nature of her relationship with Ian, who knows what she could do next?
