DS Next week on Coronation Street, Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) will focus on Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) in an effort to pique the jealousy of Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).
It was revealed recently that Betsy had fallen in love with young offender Mason. A few weeks ago, he was freed from prison for, among other things, threatening defenseless Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) with a knife.
Despite being the daughter of a detective, Betsy is showing no signs of following in her mum’s footsteps and staying out of trouble.
Coming up, Dylan watches Mason enter the café. With a knife in his bag, Dylan’s heart sinks when Mason tells Betsy he plans on saving money so he can rent a place nearby
Betsy then persuades Mason to forget his shift at Speed Daal and come back to hers as her mum is at work.
Annoyed at Mason’s inability to commit to plans, Betsy dumps him. When Mason later finds Betsy chatting to Dylan, he’s unimpressed and tells them they deserve each other.
In the week, when Betsy spots Mason, she makes a point of kissing Dylan. Calling at Speed Daal later that day, she admits that she just did it to try and make Mason jealous. However, her plan backfires when Mason spells out that he’s not interested.
Humiliated, Betsy steals a customer’s purse and slips it into Mason’s jacket.
Having discovered her purse is missing, the customer tears a strip off Yasmeen (Shelley King) and Stu (Bill Fellows).
Just as Mason puts on his jacket, he’s horrified to realise Betsy has set him up.
Will Yasmeen and Stu believe him if he reveals Betsy’s involvement?
