ITV executives from Coronation Street and Emmerdale, who are worried about their popular stars, have sent out a warning to fans.

ITV executives have sent a grave warning to viewers of Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

Every week, viewers choose between the action on the Weatherfield cobbles and the twists and turns in the Yorkshire Dales as the two biggest soap operas on the channel compete against each other in the ratings.

Both have enormous popularity on social media, where fans follow well-known celebrities like Daisy Campbell, who plays Amelia Spencer, and Rebecca Sarker, who plays Manpreet (and also played Nita on Corrie).

Additionally, well-known figures on social media include Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria, Tracy Barlow’s Kate Ford, and Alison King, who plays Carla on Corrie.

However, ITV warned viewers of both soap operas today of online frauds that pose as real accounts created by the stars themselves, aimed at unsuspecting viewers.

“Please be mindful that the Coronation Street and Emmerdale actors are often impersonated on social media by scammers who set up fake accounts on platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and Telegram,” stated a joint statement from Emmerdale and Coronation Street this afternoon.

As the shows’ producers, we believe it is our duty to alert viewers to the fact that this is happening—and considerably more frequently these days.

“Please report these fake accounts to the appropriate platform and exercise extreme caution when conversing on social media.”

It comes after ITV declared that Emmerdale and Coronation Street, two of its soap operas, will not air on Friday night during regular times. The most recent UEFA Euro 2024 match will be shown on the broadcaster instead.

Viewers witness the Group A match live from Munich Football Arena due to a scheduling change. Football enthusiasts may watch Germany, one of the favorites to win, play Scotland during the match.
