In Coronation Street’s Wednesday, July 17 episode, Betsy persisted in using Carla as a scapegoat for her workplace misbehavior.
Then, after learning that she was trapped in a dangerous area of the city, she caused havoc for Carla and Lisa as they hurried to find her.
However, Corrie fans are now clamoring for the latest teen to leave the show since they haven’t really warmed up to her.
Coronation Street: Blackmailing Betsy
Betsy persisted in her blackmailing Carla on the Street yesterday about Travis’s “hit and run.” She missed work to get a new phone, and she took early lunch breaks.
Carla went to see Lisa at the police station after growing tired of Betsy’s actions and informed her about Betsy’s threats. But shortly after, Betsy called Lisa to let her know that she was in a dangerous area of town.
Betsy had been thrown out of Joel’s car after using it for blackmail. She was lost and in need of assistance.
After helping Lisa get Betsy home, Carla invited her to stay in her apartment. At that point, Betsy conceded that the blackmail had become excessive.
Carla would consider letting Betsy keep her manufacturing work if she guaranteed to make amends with her anxious mother.
Following their conversation, Betsy followed Beth into the workplace and gave her a hard time about producing fake t-shirts. Her plans were far from finished.
Coronation Street viewers call for Betsy Swain soap axe
Fans of the recent arrival Betsy have gone to social media to vent their dissatisfaction with her schemes as she continues to operate.
They want her to get off the street so soon after she arrived because they don’t like her attitude or her attempts at extortion.
“Get her Joel,” an admirer remarked. Remove this terrible girl.
“Don’t like Betsy, she is too much like Gemma,” a disgruntled admirer said. Another gothic teen was exactly what Corrie needed.
“Carla needs to run Betsy over by accident,” a third person said.
“If they want a storyline for Swain they could kill Betsy off,” wrote a fourth Corrie watcher.
Finally, a fifth individual said, “WHY do soap operas consistently attract fresh, obnoxious brats? The most recent to have the terrible Betsy is Corrie.
Betsy’s schemes continue
There’s no stopping Betsy, as whilst she’s ended her blackmailing of Carla, she’s still causing disruption to the factory owner’s life.
Rumbling Beth’s schemes, Betsy wants in on the action and teams up with her to make a profit out of the counterfeit t-shirts. But, will Carla find out what they’re up to? And, will this be her final straw?
