In Coronation Street, Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) has been dealt a severe blow: she is expecting her brother-in-law Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) child!
Following Leanne’s (Jane Danson) indoctrination into the deadly Altovalent Institute cult, led by the menacing Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper), viewers of the ITV serial opera have witnessed the two become closer.
Toyah confided in Nick for the first time over 20 years ago, when she disclosed that she had buried her stillborn child in a park.
Although Leanne was originally kind to her sister and even went to the graveside with her, she quickly adopted a negative mindset and implied that Toyah’s pessimism was weighing her down using some of the cult’s “reality coding” techniques.
In an unexpected turn of events, Toyah and Nick kissed and couldn’t take their hands off of each other when Leanne vanished from the face of the planet to attend one of the Institute’s “retreats.”
They then spent another night together and were discovered by one of Rowan’s friends, who snapped a picture of them in a passionate moment, after making a vow to never sleep together again.
Knowing that the affair was about to come to light, Toyah ultimately consented to sign his non-disclosure agreement to try and stop his followers from following her about Weatherfield.
It appears that things will only grow worse.
In the episode from tonight, June 3, Toyah insisted on going to work at the cafe despite having stomach aches when she learned Nick was going to be spending the day at home.
She passed out when accompanying several diners to their seat and Leanne told her to go home, whereupon she passed out.
The physician at Weathy General verified her biggest fear—she was expecting a child.
Toyah told Leanne that the baby was the result of a one-night encounter as Nick was pacing the room and she was blissfully oblivious that the kid was his.
In what way will they escape this one?
Much to Nick’s dismay, Toyah grew adamant about keeping the child. Neither of them knew that Leanne had run into Rowan back at home and told him the information.
We suspect he could take advantage of this!
