Coronation Street viewers are convinced Sarah Platt is about to embark on an affair as she has been dragged into the Lauren Bolton investigation
Coronation Street fans are speculating that Sarah Platt, portrayed by Tina O’Brien, is on the brink of a scandalous affair that will shatter her daughter Bethany’s life (Lucy Fallon). In Friday’s episode (August 23), Sarah found herself under police interrogation by DS Swain.
As regular viewers of the ITV soap will be aware, the detective is attempting to uncover who is behind the assault on Lauren Bolton (Caitlin Fitton) which left locals fearing she had died.
Lauren has identified abusive Joel Deering (Callum Lill) as the father of her newborn son, but the solicitor denies any involvement.
In the meantime, Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) remains incarcerated following charges related to Lauren’s disappearance.
During her police questioning, Sarah refuted allegations of planting Lauren’s DNA in Nathan’s van, which served as evidence leading to his arrest.
Upon exiting the station, Sarah implored Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) to convince her daughter Bethany to abandon her crusade against Nathan.
Daniel subsequently questioned police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) about the possibility of the evidence against Nathan being fabricated, only to be cautioned against making such accusations.
He then pointed the finger at Daniel’s girlfriend Bethany for interfering in the case, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Later, Daniel confided in Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) expressing his mistrust towards newcomer Kit and voicing his suspicion that something about Nathan’s conviction doesn’t add up.
Despite the controversy surrounding Lauren’s case, Coronation Street viewers have been quick to speculate a brewing romance between Sarah and her daughter’s beau Daniel.
A Corrie enthusiast took to Reddit to share their hunch: “Sarah and Daniel. They have had at least 2 scenes together which means only one thing….affair! I’m calling it! “.
Another fan concurred: “Yeah definitely, they do a screen chemistry test and unfortunately Sarah seems to be hot with everyone! “
