The Brown family of Coronation Street struggles to provide for their five children and lives on the breadline.

Fans of Coronation Street speculate that Simon Gregson’s character, Steve McDonald, who is unlucky in love, may be on his way to a romantic relationship with another Weatherfield character on the ITV soap opera. The cab driver and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), who started working for him as a caregiver for father-in-law Ken Barlow (William Roche), appear to be developing a romantic relationship, according to viewers.

Their relationship had a poor beginning because Steve had just hired her in order to save money on a caregiver with the necessary qualifications. Ken let her go after realizing she was unqualified.

He later had a change of heart, though, and she was back at the top of the hierarchy. Steve took great pleasure in making her miserable by forcing her to trim Ken’s toenails.

Her work wasn’t all horrible, though, because Ken took her out to lunch at the Bistro, which resulted in a flirtatious conversation between her and Steve when she got back. “You should take notes – you might get more dates,” Cassie said to Steve after Ken acknowledged that he had paid for the supper.

He snapped back, “I don’t need any dating advice from you.” “I’m glad to hear that,” she said. “Embracing your celibacy are you?” “If I wanted to, I could go on a date,” declared Steve.

Supporters took to X to voice their opinions since they thought Steve was being defensive and that there was chemistry between the two.

“Do you think that Steve and Cassie’s relationship will result from Cassie taking care of Ken?” one person asked. #Corrie.

“#corrie obviously going to put cassie and steve together,” repeated another.

Another person commented: “Cassie and Steve are defo gonna be a thing like #corrie well if randy Ken doesn’t get in there first the old Casanova!”

The sparks weren’t limited to the fans. Amy (Elle Mulvaney), Steve’s daughter, also made fun of Cassie.

She informed him that there appeared to be a connection between the two of them. She remarked cheekily, “The way you two joke around reminds me of how you were with mum.”

Despite Steve’s protests that he didn’t like Cassie, Amy remained doubtful, stating that “millions wouldn’t” believe him.

Since his wife Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) fled to Spain with former football player Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), Steve has been living alone.
