Corrie’s Stefan Brent had his office set alight – and while some fans reckon it was Abi or Jack who started the fire, others are convinced it’s someone else
The culprit who started the fire in Coronation Street resident Stefan Brent’s office has been ‘revealed’ – and it’s not Abi or Jack Webster.
Stefan (Paul Opacic) recently made a return to the soap, years after his son Corey (Maximus Evans) was jailed for killing Abi’s son Seb (Harry Visinoni). Recently, Abi (Sally Carman) was left horrified over documentary highlighting Corey as a football star while behind bars.
She tried to put a stop to it but things went from bad to worse when videos started circulating online of Abi, seemingly as part of a sex tape. However, it was revealed that it wasn’t her in the clips and that they were actually deepfakes.
Along with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) the pair are certain Stefan is behind the videos. Kevin even broke into Stefan’s office last month, to try and find evidence he was behind the deepfakes.
He managed to steal a burner phone in the process – but things have gone from bad to worse recently. During Monday’s episode (July 29) Stefan tricked Abi and Kevin into thinking he wanted to put an end to their feud.
While Abi and Kevin headed out to meet Stefan, little did they know he had turned up at their house – with just Kevin’s son Jack inside. Stefan smooth-talked his way into the house and ended up stealing the burner phone back.
Abi and Kevin soon returned and were left fuming to hear Stefan had been in their house, and taken the only bit of evidence they had. Things soon took a more dramatic turn though.
Later on, the police showed up at Kevin’s garage, with cobbles resident Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) revealing Kevin was under arrest on suspicion of burglary of Stefan’s property.
After getting released, Kevin headed back home, but Abi told him she was heading out and needed some alone time.
Sometime later, Abi returned to find Kevin reading a news report of a recent fire at Stefan’s office building. Abi didn’t show any sympathy, which left Kevin rather suspicious.
And while many fans reckon it is Abi or Kevin’s son Jack who is behind the fire at Stefan’s office – other viewers reckon it could be another beloved villager.
Rushing to social media, some fans claimed Kevin’s sister Debbie (Sue Devaney) started the fire. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, viewers shared their theories, as one wrote: “I thought Jack but it could also be Debbie.”
Someone else added: “Good m call maybe Debbie she’s quite funny.” A third penned: “Too obvious for Abi definitely Debbie.” Echoing their thoughts, another chimed in and proclaimed: “Debbie or she got someone to do it!”
