Coronation Street viewers were left stunned after finding out a cobbles favourite has a real-life identical twin who even appeared on the ITV soap.
Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked after realising a beloved actor has an identical twin. Actor Liam McCheyne is best known for playing Dylan Wilson, the son of soap legend Sean Tully (Antony Cotton). Dylan first arrived on the cobbles in 2011, but his initial stint was short-lived.
He ended up leaving Weatherfield with his mum, Violet (Jenny Platt) for a decade before he made his permanent return in 2022. And since then, he’s had a rather dramatic and turbulent time on the famous street.
Fans will recall he has been a part of the heartbreaking bullying storyline that saw Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) make Liam Connor’s (Charlie Wrenshall) life hell.
However, it’s actor Liam’s life away from the cobbles that has got fans talking. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, fans shared their shock over Liam having an identical twin. One person proclaimed: “I had no idea Liam was a twin.”
Someone else replied: “Wait what?!” A third chimed in and penned: “I didn’t know either just read up on it.” Another said: “Never knew they were twins!”
When Dylan was first introduced to Corrie in 2011, Liam shared the role with his twin brother, Connor.
However, Connor has since swapped acting for a sport he loves, as he is now an aspiring cricketer.
Talking about his identical brother, Liam previously said: “Connor found that love, and it is a love, so I’m really glad he found something he wants to do. We’re as close as anything. We’ve got our differences, but there’s definitely similarities.”
Liam and Connor turned 17 in January and Liam issued a heartfelt tribute to his brother to mark the special day.
He wrote on social media: “17 years of sharing a birthday with @connormccheyne never a day where we’re not laughing.
“Both have different ideas and pathways, but we have the same person to always trust. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Another chapter is going to be written. Chapter 17! Here’s to another amazing year.”
