Lauren Bolton made her return to Coronation Street this week – now fans reckon she has been working with a resident to try and take down attacker Joel Deering
Fans of Coronation Street are positive that Lauren Bolton is working with a cobbles resident to unseat Joel Deering.
After going missing for months and being thought to be dead, troubled youngster Lauren (Cait Fitton) made her comeback this week. As fans will remember, she lost her job at Roy’s Rolls and disappeared from the well-known cobbles.
But viewers didn’t learn that the teen’s abduction was the result of sleazy solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) until last month.
Additionally, it was disclosed that Lauren has been hiding and is in fact alive during Monday’s show (July 7). The child arrived at Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) hospital bedside after experiencing a heart attack earlier in the day.
Additionally, Lauren tried to leave the hospital quickly in Tuesday’s episode (July 8), but Joel, her attacker, seized her and shoved her into a family room.
Throughout the episode, viewers were shown the real story behind Lauren’s disappearance and her connection with Joel through a series of flashbacks.
After Lauren needed help paying her bills, the shady solicitor crept into her life and forced her into a relationship.
At the very end of the show, after some really uncomfortable scenes, Lauren was able to quickly leave Joel. Fans, however, are now positive that Lauren is genuinely collaborating with Sydney Martin’s Betsy Swain to bring Joel down.
Fans will remember that DS Swain’s (Vicky Myers) daughter, a fiery Betsy, once rocked up to the cobbles. Surprisingly, though, she has been using Joel as a monetary blackmail target.
Viewers now have “proof” that Betsy and Lauren are acquainted, as they have noted how, despite not knowing Roy, Betsy appeared alarmed and disturbed when she learned of his heart attack. Supporters further asserted that Betsy might have been the one to inform Lauren about Roy, leading to her going to see him.
On a Facebook fan page, one person said: “Could DS Swain’s daughter have been helping Lauren? She was there when Carla got the phone call about Roy being in hospital so could have told Lauren which is how she knew where he was.
“Also she warned Sabrina off Joel, so maybe she knew more about him than she was letting on. She is a friend of Sabrina’s so highly likely that she’s seen Lauren when she’s visited Sabrina as they live next door to each other & maybe seen Joel going to Lauren’s flat.”
Someone else added: “Kirsten Maclean I saw Betsy’s face when Carla got the phone call about Roy in hospital & she looked worried when she does not even know Roy.” A third penned: “Now that would be a really good story..coz Betsy did approach Joel….”
