Lauren Bolton of Coronation Street shocked everyone by coming back this week after being missing and thought to be dead. It was then discovered that Lauren is expecting Joel Deering’s child.
After Lauren Bolton, played by Cait Fitton, came to the Cobbles this week and revealed that she is carrying a child, Coronation Street viewers were left perplexed. After going missing in February, Lauren was thought to be dead.
Later on in the ITV soap opera, viewers found out she had been brutally attacked by shady lawyer Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Even Roy Cropper (David Nielson), her former supervisor, was detained and imprisoned for her slaying. Locals in Weatherfield conducted a thorough, although fruitless, search for the disturbed teenager.
Nevertheless, the person who ultimately took the blame for her death was sex trafficker Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper), who was set up by dishonest police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Lauren unexpectedly reappeared on the ITV soap opera on Monday, July 8, and her survival was verified as she went to see Roy Cropper in the hospital following his heart attack.
Lauren attempted to flee the hospital quickly in Tuesday’s episode (July 8) but Joel, her attacker, intercepted her and pushed her into a family room.
Lauren announced she was five months pregnant with Joel’s child as he was about to lash out at the hospital, but Lauren held her stomach and insisted he had no involvement in the baby’s life.
However, as Lauren’s character went unseen while out in public, Corrie viewers have been left complaining about the same things regarding her plot.
Viewers have been perplexed as to why no one saw Lauren out and about, given that she was involved in a months-long murder investigation.
Alternatively, given that she would have been covered in blood after Joel’s attack, how could a member of the public have failed to sound the alarm?
One Corrie fan said on X, the former name for Twitter: “I’m not saying that the Lauren storyline is implausible but a girl with blood soaked hair charging about, begging for money and hopping on a coach AND a TV appeal AND a murder investigation and not one person saw?? #Corrie.”
Another shouted, “#Corrie One thing: Considering that everyone has been hunting for Lauren for the past six months, wouldn’t Lauren change her hair color or style? Corrie, you have some explaining to do.
A third person added, saying, “Apparently, she got out of dodge with a coach, screaming and covered in blood, and the police were unable to locate any evidence or CCTV footage of it. At her flat, the blood trail mysteriously came to an end. Thankfully, we have Bethany, who will undoubtedly track down that disgusting coat #corrie.”
“A stupid plot, that is. Thus, Lauren fled with her head gushing blood, no money, no phone, no clothes, and a pregnant body. She boarded a coach and stayed there for five months? Stupid. A ridiculous tale. #Corrie “, said a second.
