Eight years after leaving Coronation Street, Richard Fleeshman announced he was due to become a father, sharing his fiancée’s pregnancy with the world through an emotional video.
Richard Fleeshman is gearing up for fatherhood as he revealed his fiancée is pregnant with their first child.
Known for portraying teen Craig Harris in Coronation Street from 2002 to 2006, the soap actor, 35, has kept a somewhat low profile but kept his acting credits up to date with multiple appearances on stage, a role in Netflix‘s The Sandman in 2022 and another in Syfy‘s The Ark.
During his years on the long-running ITV soap, in which he could be seen cosying up with Helen Flanagan‘s Rosie Webster character, he was also known for his blossoming music career, supporting Sir Elton John on his Summer stadium tour in 2008.
This Sunday, August 4, however, Richard spoke out on Instagram to give out an important life update as he was tagged in a video he shared on his own story.
The clip belongs to and features Richard’s fiancée, Dutch actress Celinde Schoenmaker, who shares the spotlight with the couple’s cat, Luna, as she walks towards a window, letting in light in her dimly lit room. Despite the lack of lighting, Celinde’s round belly can be spotted.
Celinde wrote a message for her own online post, sharing her growing excitement for motherhood. “We’ve not met you yet, but never been more in love”, she wrote, “I don’t think Luna realizes she’s not gonna be the cutest in the household for much longer. @rfleeshman so many new adventures ahead.”
In another post shared on her Instagram story, she then wrote: “Thank you for all your gorgeous messages, our hearts are completely overflowing and we feel so lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.
Many of Celinde’s 53.6k followers, both in and away from the sportlight, reacted to the happy news in the comment section, with Marisha Wallace writing: “FINALLY WE CAN SCREAM! MY BABY!”
Former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher added: “Congratulations guys. You’ll be the most amazing parents! The start of an incredible journey.” Laura Whitmore also chimed in, writing a simple: “Congrats guys!!! X”
In 2022, Richard and Celinde made their engagement official on social media after a romantic trip to South Africa. Captioning a silhouette image of him and Celinde on Instagram, Richard had written at the time: “Went to Africa with my girl. I’ll be heading home with a Fiancée. Couldn’t be happier,” he wrote under a silhouette image of the couple against the sunset.”
Celinde made a post of her own, captioning a picture of her and Richard: “”WOW! Thank you for all your wonderful messages! Really feeling all the love, we’re having the time of our lives. Big love to you all from me and my FIANCÉ! Wooohoow!!!” But what could be their next move?
