The actress has shot to fame in the role of Kelly Neelan on the ITV soap since joining in 2019
Since making her television debut in Coronation Street in 2019, Millie Gibson has had quite the trip on the cobbles. The ITV soap opera character Kelly Neelan has provided the actress with no shortage of difficult, dramatic, and emotional tales as she has risen to popularity.
She was a part of the shocking hate crime plot line, which saw Kelly accused of a murder she didn’t commit after Seb Franklin passed away from his wounds after he and his girlfriend Nina Lucas were attacked by Corey Brent and his friends. The plot was inspired by the tragic story of Sophie Lancaster, who was killed in 2007, who was killed in 2007.Kelly was ultimately exonerated and Corey finally received his just desserts thanks to Stu Carpenter (Billy Fellows), Asha Alahan, who was played by Tanisha Gorey, and Nina, who was played by Mollie Gallagher. But after being targeted throughout her stay in protected housing, the adolescent was left homeless after being released.
More recently, the character learned of her father’s passing just days before her mother Laura Neelan (Kelly Allen), who had assumed responsibility for her husband Rick’s murder so that the real murderer Gary Windass could act as her guardian with wife Maria, also passed away from cancer in tragic scenes, was also mourned by the character.
The drama doesn’t end there, either. On Friday night (July 15), viewers of the ITV soap opera Corrie witnessed Kelly’s attempts to make up for her father’s wrongdoings by repaying the people he defrauded over the years go horribly wrong. She met Kieron, one of her father’s nefarious former clients, and soon found herself panicked and imprisoned in a pitch-black cellar. In what has been a busy few years for the young actress, Millie from Broadbottom, it’s the beginning of another significant tale. But it was clear that her efforts were worthwhile when she won the Best Young Performer award at the British Soap Awards last month. The soap star said she was “unbelievably lucky” to have been granted the “most hard-hitting and fascinating” stories as she entered the stage to accept her first major award, adding that she will be “forever honored.”

“We are so tremendously proud of our @milliegibbo for winning Best Young Performer at the #britishsoapawards for her fantastic performance in @coronationstreet,” they stated on Instagram alongside a photo of her receiving the award. In a brief response, Mille said, “Forever appreciating you!”
Soon after her significant victory, Millie turned 18 and had another momentous occasion to celebrate. Several of her Corrie co-stars attended her birthday party as she celebrated.
In a red maxi dress with a plunging neckline and ruffled details all the way down, the birthday girl looked lovely. To complete the bold look, she added a crimson lip and a matching pair of heels.
Her brilliant blonde hair had been fashioned into elegant waves in the interim, and for jewelry, she opted for understated gold pieces. She posted pictures from the celebration on Instagram with her family, friends, and on-screen guardian Mikey North, who plays Gary, as well as former on-screen foster dad Charlie De Melo, who just left the serial opera in a dramatic way as Imran Habeeb.
Colson Smith from Craig Tinker, Paddy Bever from Corrie, who portrays Max Turner, and soap legend Jimmi Harkishin, aka Dev Alahan, all showed up to help Millie celebrate her birthday. Furthermore, afterOn her special day, Millie admitted that she doesn’t actually go by that name. Morgan, her brother, sent a picture to her Instagram Story of what appeared to be a photo album. Fans quickly noticed that the front of the personalized book had a different name than the back.
It listed “Amelia Eve Gibson” and Millie’s birthdate of June 19, 2004. Belated birthday present for @ morgangibson7, she captioned the photo with, adding a teary emoji. She then gave her followers a peek inside by sharing a picture of herself as a little child blowing out birthday cake candles while looking gorgeous.
When she first started walking the cobbles, Millie was frequently questioned about her eyebrows. Some Corrie viewers initially believed that the adolescent had shaved the split into her brow for her character as troublemaker Kelly, but Millie has since clarified that it is actually a scar. Actress, now in @coronationstreet… before you ask – it’s a scar, according to her Instagram bio.My dad constantly gets angry with statements like that because people say things like, “Oh no she’s put it in herself trust me, I know she’s put it in herself,” according to Millie, who was quoted in the Manchester Evening News in May of last year. I was around two or three years old when I was younger. I appear like a right gangster in every image I have of myself as a newborn.
I obviously had a huge head since I reportedly hit it on the corner of the banister thing while running. Added her: “Although it has never truly healed, I kind of enjoy it. It undoubtedly fits the persona.”
Millie featured in the ITV drama Butterfly before Corrie, which told the tale of a transsexual child. She portrayed Lily, an 11-year-old boy named Max’s sibling who identified as female and aspired to live a girl’s life. As Max’s parents, the three-part miniseries also stars Emmett J. Scanlan from Hollyoaks and Rochdale actress Anna Friel. In an episode of the drama series Love, Lies, and Records, she had her debut on-screen appearance. But when she was chosen for the children’s show Jamie Johnson, that was when she really got her big break.that was broadcast from 2017 to 2018. The CBBC program focused on Jamie, a student at a senior high school who was also a gifted football player. Indira Cave, a young woman who appears to be a superficial gossip but turns out to be much more, was portrayed by Millie.
Before joining Corrie, Millie got the ITV miniseries Butterfly role after Jamie Johnson. She initially appeared in four episodes of Coronation Street, but as they say, the rest is history.
Many of Millie’s co-stars share a tight bond with her, especially Tanisha from her soap opera. On their respective Instagram sites, the couple is frequently pictured together. Millie kissed Tanisha’s cheek in one of the co-stars’ more recent Instagram images with the caption “The Mrs,” and Tanisha posted a selfie from the same day with the message “my little darling” on her account.
Tanisha, who has played the daughter of Dev Alahan on Corrie since 2009, posted a photo of the couple cuddling up at the party along with other pictures from the night after the show’s belated Christmas/Summer party earlier this year. “Crimbo celebration only 4 months late:)),” she wrote as the album’s caption.
That’s the love of my life?!,” Millie wrote in the comments section. Tanisha quickly replied, “Always my baby,” demonstrating their unshakable relationship. The actress Kel Allen, who portrayed Kelly’s mother Laura in the ITV serial opera, has become Millie’s second mother. When the two uploaded images of themselves together online and used the terms “babba” and “mamma,” people frequently commented that they looked alike. At Millie’s 18th birthday celebration, Kel posted pictures of the two together and commented, “Babba’s all grown up…. Greetings on your 18th birthday, @milliegibbo.”I have a limitless amount of love for the most beautiful person, with the most lovely spirit.” She concluded by saying: “The world is yours, baby girl. I adore you, Mills, mother.” I love you with all of my heart, my mamma forever and always, Millie quickly replied.
